Hey everyone! This is the place where we talk about what we do to stay healthy and fit. Or what we are planning to do in the future for our fitness.

So... have you joined or are you planning to join a gym? Do you follow a diet plan? How much time do you dedicate to exercise daily? This is the place to discuss it!

I'll start first. I have been following a diet plan for the past few months prescribed by my dietician. It has low -carb and low-fat in it. And I am also planning on joining a gym. Would have joined one already if the fees were a little low and I had a little more time for it lol. I also do the occasional cycling or swimming but don't have a fixed exercise schedule yet.

So that's about me. Tell me your story. What do you do to lead a healthy life and stay fit?

I don't like working out. While I'm usually pretty easy to entertain, just running or lifting things to get in better shape is boring for me. I love taking long walks though, which is my main way of exercising. There is also a 30 minute walk to school, which I quite enjoy.

I used to do horsebackriding, which I'm planning on getting back too soon. Some people might say that it's not exercise nor a sport, but I really disagree, because most people who say that have never been on a horse. I also help out at the stable when I'm there, which includes lifting heavy weights.

Taking walks and working in a stable is much better than just working out for me, as I like to have a goal/purpose other than run this long and lift this much.

As for diet.. Well, I don't follow a plan, but I make sure to eat a lot of fish and greens, because I love both, and because I like staying healthy.

I try to work out pretty regularly. For a few months I was focusing on building muscle strength through some bodyweight fitness exercises augmented by light weights, but as of last month I've focused on building size for a little bit to try and look a bit better. I think it wouldn't be a bad idea for me to swap between the two cycles every little while, maintain a healthy balance between focusing on looks and function.

So I moved recently and it hit me I lacked strength! I did have endurance though since I was able to keep at it all day. Thinking about it I want to build some muscle, I mean I can't go to the gym but I can definitely do some exercises at home. I also want to drink more water so my body doesn't rely on sugar to fuel it. To sum it up I have no major diet plans, but I do want to get active. I think it'll be good for me.

I got one of those for my home. I really hate going to the gym, and pullups do a lot for you so if you're gonna do home workouts this is a good idea. Otherwise the basics can really help push you, things like push-ups and squats can all be modified in a way the challenge your body even without weights. If you want even more exercise options right at home, I bought a set of rings for my pull-up bar which allows me to do stuff like rows and dips while incorporating the balance required in using rings.

Despite what people say, working out at home is a very viable option.

Ever since I graduated college and moved back to Washington State, I've made more strides to improve my health and lose weight. It took a bit of time, but I've made progress. The two biggest things I do are drinking water - 64 ounces a day - and walking. Part of what's helped me in my walking is playing Pokemon Go. I also watch what I eat and drink. I've cut back my soda and coffee consumption - besides water I'll drink orange juice every day to get enough Vitamin C.

I've also reduced my stress at work and at home. I also make sure to at least get 6-8 hours of sleep every night. I used to think I had to compete with people because they talked about getting a few hours of sleep and still being able to function, but I've learned lack of sleep can be a bad thing.

I'll also work out and do yoga occasionally but I need to do it more. I love working out, but I don't put enough time into it.

Planning to join a Gym? Of course, I put defenders in every day :p
GO joke aside, I don't actually plan joining a gym, because I get lots of walking and even a little bit of running thanks to Pokemon GO anyway, it's good exercise if you play enough (which I do). I am considering joining a swimming club, however, because a few peers are trying to get me into it and swimming is a different kind of exercise that I like and lets more muscles get stronger except just the legs.

I do follow a diet plan since December, since I've gained too much weight over the years. Back when I started I've reached 157 kg -_- but now I'm all the way down to 119 and keep going. It's still a lot but I no longer have weight-related health problems and am able to move around more, which only makes going further down easier.

Overall, while I was not leading a healthy life for years, I'm now doing better than ever in that department and plan to keep doing better.

I like to walk, jog, bike ride, and play sports. Basketball and soccer are my favorites. I am also try to limit my meat intake and I'll have days where I eat nothing but vegetarian meals. Despite that, my weight is a little on the heavy side for someone of my height and my cholesterol is also high. Those are just genetics that I have to keep under control with excercise and healthy eating. My weight problem would be a lot worse if I didn't keep active.

Thinking about it, I would love to take up swimming next. The city I live in has a natatorium and membership prices are reasonable.

I lift weights and do pull-ups once a week following a routine I asked my dad to set up for me. I won't pretend to like doing it, but it accomplishes what I wanted and needed it to so I'd say it's worth the effort. I despise the squats, but I bear through them.

As far as other exercises, I've started a sort of side-project to stretch my legs more. Just out of curiosity to see if I can get them to be more flexible. I think it's making progress, but I've only been at it for a week or two.

Where I'm severely lacking is in cardio, and I know I need to do something about that, but it's the hardest thing to find some variant that works for me. Somewhat conveniently, my workplace has me moving to the mailroom this week in order to get trained on that stuff, which will involve walking all around our facility, but that's just temporary since I'm still going to be mainly doing my normal job (the mail training is just in case somebody calls in and they need a back-up). My partner and I sometimes walk or bike around her neighborhood, but we've hit some significant obstacles in those efforts. For walking, we've just about walked every route we can manage in the short-term, plus it's been stupidly hot outside as of late. And before that, my bike tire went flat, and I haven't been able to fix it yet. Still, we're hoping to go walking around the park some more now that the pools have closed and the temperatures will be more tolerable.

I'm also really bad at getting enough sleep. I'm trying to fix that, but it is very difficult. On a more positive note, I have made some great strides in repairing my posture.

Diet-wise... I certainly try to manage myself, but I'm really just winging it and some weeks I lose my discipline and go a little overboard. Sugar is my biggest nemesis, although I was successfully able to totally exorcise soda from my diet long ago. I don't consume a lot of caffeine. I have considered the possibility of instituting a weekly Vegetarian Day, but we'll see. Vegetables are always hardest for me to work with, even though I do like them a lot.
