Did someone in your Sims 3 neighborhood accidentally catch on fire? Has someone on your Tomodachi Life island fallen in love? And how are your crops doing in your Harvest Moon games? Talk about them all here!

Especially with the upcoming releases of games like Tomodachi Life and Sims 4, I thought it would be a cool idea to create a space for people to talk about their life-sim adventures, swap game tips, and just have a good laugh about the crazy things your inhabitants are doing. I also figured that for some of the more social games we could share our usernames/friend codes/whatever else so what we can connect/share with each other. So why are you still reading this? Get to sharing!

Just a note: Since there's already a thread specifically for Animal Crossing: New Leaf, you should post about your 3DS village adventures there. You can, however, post about past & future Animal Crossing games in this thread!

I only played the Sims 3 for a short time. I instantly realised It wasn't as good as the Sims 2 :B

I'm very excited about the Sims 4. It looks like they've taken it back to basics in terms of graphics and the way the Sims actually look. Been watching the promos on YouTube. I hope E3 gives us a release date. I'm sure once I get my hands on it I'll have plenty of screenshots and stories to tell. In the meantime, here's a picture of a dog I owned in the Sims 3, notice anything strange?

To be honest I've never played a Sims game before (I know I know, stop judging me). I've always wanted to but just never got around to it. But since I'm currently trying to satisfy this life-sim itch I currently have, I'm really excited to see what The Sims 4 is all about. I've watched some videos and I have also been impressed by them so far. It's just... EA ugh, but whatever, if a game's good enough. Deliver the goods at E3, EA!

(Also, @CrackFox I don't see anything wrong with your dog... :p But seriously, how did it end up... there?!)

In the mean time I've been dabbling in Tomodachi Life: Move-In Version to prepare for the full version coming out in four (!) days.
Obviously since it's a demo, I can't do much on my island right now, but the little things I can do are really fun. In addition to my Mii (named Ricky) I also have Tyler Hoechlin (actor, plays Derek on Teen Wolf) and Sam Winchester (a main character in Supernatural) on my island. They're all BFFs with each other and I constantly find them hanging out together in someone's room.

Tyler really likes his tree house-themed room. I think it's because it reminds him of his wolf days living in the woods.

I gave them all a hula dance manual, so once in a while I find them dancing in their rooms. It's just really funny to see Sam of all people practicing his hula dancing skills considering that he's this uber-serious monster hunter on Supernatural.

Aloha 'oe, aloha 'oe~

Also, this game is just weird:

Not sure how Ricky is this casual about a crab on his shirt, I would be freaking out if that happened to me!
Right now I'm contemplating re-making my Mii so that it's technically female but is otherwise me, since marriage & children play a significant role in the game. I just don't like the idea of my Mii potentially marrying and creating a home with a female Mii to be all that honest... but I also don't want my Mii to be by himself either, 'cause honestly that's just a little too real right now, lol. Decisions, decisions...

I think it was the cheat codes I used. It usually messes up the game somehow.

Hey @Ice Ricky, where did ya download it?

Hey @Ice Ricky, where did ya download it?

I believe you have to have to be a Platinum member at Club Nintendo, they send you an email with a download code.

Anyway, very excited for the Sims 4. Been watching a lot of videos on YouTube. E3 was very disappointing, didn't show us much at all but info is leaked gradually anyway.

Yeah @Loukasray, the only way to download the Move-In Version of Tomodachi Life is either through a North American Club Nintendo promotion from about a month ago, or by receiving a download code for this version from someone who purchased the full game during its initial launch period (not sure if these codes are still bundled with the game or not right now).

Right now I'm really excited for Fantasy Life to be released in North America. It's apparently a mix between the RPG and life-sim genres, which is perfect 'cause those are like my two favorite genres right now. Plus it's developed by Level-5, who is responsible for Ni No Kuni (and the Professor Layton series), so I'm sure Fantasy Life will be an awesome game. :D

But also, Tomodachi Life! I've had the game for a while now (it'll be two weeks this Friday), and wow this game is so random. I'll put my updates in a spoiler tag, 'cause it's kinda long. A lot has happened!

I've already completed 700 problems on Korwatis Island, which apparently deserved a gold trophy! Didn't actually get one, though... :/ I have over 30 characters on my island right now--I want to add more, but I'm running out of ideas on who else I want to add while trying to keep the male-female ratio balanced. It's really fun watching Miis interact with each other because you just see these motley crews of folk hanging out with each other in the game. Like right now I'm best friends with Zendaya Coleman, while Peach, Rosalina, and Sinnoh-champ Cynthia all hang out in the café. And it's great when I see my niece playing Wii U games with Reggie Fils-Aime, Shaun White, and Brock. These random moments are just so fun!

There are some weeeeeird couples on my Island right now. Like, right now Juan is dating Olivia Pope from Scandal, and Mario & Peach are dating on my island... but only after Mario massively rejected Peach the day before they got together! Christina Aguilera got rejected by both Tyler Hoechlin and Shaquille O'Neal within 24 hours, that put her in a funk. Male Shepard from Mass Effect and Samus Aran were together at one point, but then they had a really bad break-up. :( And of course things didn't get better when Male Shep's only friend at the time, Luigi, decided to date Samus like hours after the break-up--and they got married a couple days after that!

Speaking of marriage, there have also been some amazing successful relationships so far! The first marriage in my game was between my Mii and Sam Winchester (I posted pictures of the proposal and the wedding here). And they are still together and uber happy and I love checking up on them in their marriage house! :) Some other married couples on my island include: Brock & Rosalina, Cynthia & Derrick (from GameXplain), Flannery & Kaidan (from the Mass Effect series), and of course Samus & Luigi. (The first two couples already have a baby. And speaking of which...)

So just as I finally got the hang of one difficult mini-game (the proposal game), the game threw a curveball and gave me yet another difficult mini-game to do: babysitting! The basics of the mini-game are simple--you just have to mimic cradling a baby using the gyroscope in the 3DS--but of course this is easier said than done. I think I've tried this like six times now, and although I somehow got it right the first two times, every time after that has resulted in utter failure. I searched some tips online for this mini-game, so I'm going to try them out and see if they work. I just can't believe I got this right the first couple times and then just completely failed after that. Grrr, these mini-games!

I'll stop it there for now so that this post isn't too long. I'll end with directions on how to make ravioli:

... Yuuuuup.

Yeah, I put Fantasy Life on my wishlist as soon as I saw 'Princess' was a career option, lmao.

I'm hella excited for The Sims 4, also, and I picked up playing 3 again just to satisfy the mood. Right now my Sim-self has just gotten married and become a substitute teacher! I had higher hopes for her, personally (prolific author, anyone?), but she seems happy enough. She won an eating contest yesterday (getting a thousand Simoleons as a prize??) and then I knew she must be very similar to me after all. >__> I have a feeling there will be trouble in paradise soon, though, because all she ever wants is promotions or dates and her husband is already wanting to have a baby - his lifetime wish is to raise 5 children, while my Sim's is to have like 50k or something. I let her exercise some preference and got her hitched to him because of their mutual attraction, but I'm starting to wonder if that was a good idea. :p

I don't know if people have heard but it seems like they are really letting fans down with some of the cutbacks in The Sims 4. No more pools, no more toddler stage. A Sim will go straight from a baby to a child and the teens are the same height as adults now so the difference will be unnoticeable. Those are just some of the bad aspects. There's been a huge backlash at the makers about this but they seem entirely unapologetic, making excuses about budget issues and not enough designers. It's honestly one of the most ridiculous situations. They're gonna end up losing a load of money on this.

Yeah, when I found out about the features they've confirmed they're not including, I was immensely put off. As it stands I'm not planning to buy it at all any more - one of my favourite things about 3 was the depth of realism and attachment to sims that details like the toddler stage and height differences fostered. I'll probably just spend the money I would've spent on 4 on expansions for 3 now. Not good news to be hearing at all.
