Greetings

I was thinking about many aspects of Movie 3 for along time. I considered that movie a very good one, for some odd reason, mostly because I could relate to the happenings of Molly, and her way of handling what was going on, even in the end, comming to her senses.

I have read many good fanfics, by many well written and read authors, as well, based on Movie 3. I am also working on a Crossover story involving my Idea of "what happens next" as far as Movie 3 goese, taking it into whacky and semi-possible "branchings" it is still in the works, however, and is most likely going to be in Manga form.

I also have many theories regarding Pokemon 3 and its inspirational means. Pokemon 3's story doesn't seem all that original (not much in Pokemon is, even the concept of Pokemon itself)

I can state these at a later time, all comments are welcome, just be as polite as possible and have fun :)

Pokemon 3 is the only movie my mother will watch because she came up with the idea that the unown are like kabbalic (sp?) symbols or something ... in any case, the notion that written symbols have mystical potential. Also, it's the only plot that made sense to her. She knows squat about pokemon, other than the creatures are like our animals, but the whole "depressed kid makes up a protector etc" thing, she gets.

Serge165, I agree that P3 is made for crossover fics, as Molly can access any reality she wishes with the help of the unown.

What are some of your theories? One of mine is that P2000 started the plot by Delia being worried about Ash, and in P3 Ash becomes desperate to protect Delia. Also, it almost seems to beg for Haleshipping: Delia knew Spencer in the past, and Ash visited and played with the Hales during his early childhood -- sounds like visitation rights to me. Third, Entei has Mewtwo's obsession with protectiveness, even down to altering the environment to do so. Finally, I find the focus on family ironic. Ash barely spends a lunch hour with his mom, and he lectures Molly on family? Riiiiiggghhht....

That is very interesting, Jessie (I'll save your 'real' name for E-mails) Kabbalic Symbols...ahhh so familiar. in my fanfics, Molly Hale is on a Monomythic "redeemer's journey" in the whole entity, to prove she ISN"T a psycho and isn't evil
*Begins writing music for "Tree Vs Grass"*
...I'm so throwing the Dammerung in this, lyric wise~

Thanks. There are just some people I'd rather not know where I am.

My Theories about Pokemon 3's creation

-Pokemon 3 was based partly on Radical Dreamers -- A sattleview game that is the successor to Chrono Trigger, by square

-Greenfield has no relavence to Johto, and doesnt' seem to be part of the Pokemon world (it most likely was just invented for Movie purposes) and bares striking resemblances to CT's Truce, as shown in Anime stills from the PSX version.

[NEW!] The strange man controlling (or holding back) the Unown and the blue lady found in the pic with Entei in Molly's Storybook are somehow linked to the Hale family

Pokemon: three was the last one I saw in theaters (I took my little sister for her birthday, and we sprinted acorss the whole theater to reach a bathroom in the middle of the charizard-fights scene...) but I would not classify it as my favourite movie (Pokemon 2 was the best executed, I think.)Actually, much like the first one, it just features a character I can really get into, if not the plot.

I love Mii/Molly becuase she's the antithesis of most little anime girls. She's actually a character instead of just the cause behind everything, or a motivator. She actually DOES things, rather than just having things done for her. I mean, yes, the unown and Entei come to make her happy, but it's a direct connection, rather than some oblique motivation to "protect Mii" or "Make Mii happy"

And she's s'darn cute. Wacky bacon hair and all, she's just so...clunky. I love clunky little people. While I find the overall film lacking, there are a few scenes I do latch onto: Satoshi&co. entering the tower/climbing the waterfall etc, Hanako's photographs, Mii's bedtime story and the phonecall, the scrabble scene, and the conclusion and end credits. They're nice vignettes, and mostly lack that obnoxious purple/fuschia colour that crops up everywhere else...

I'm also a junkie for Mii's story book. It's all done in Art Nouveau style, if anyone noticed. To me, the woman riding on Entei's back looks a lot like Ai. I wish they would release some of those prints...*drool*

er...I wrote this comparison a little while back...I hope it's Ok to plug it here...
Mii, Myself and Ai: http://www.geocities.com/soulofaitwo/miiai.html

Yeah, I read that and now that you mention it, the storybook chick does look like an older Amber/Ai. A mere cameo? A comparison like on your site? Entei was, after all, a lot like Mewtwo in the sense that they were obnoxiously powerful and had a relationship of some sort to a human girl. Plus, absent fathers figure prominently in both stories (although Fuji was probably just absent emotionally, while Spencer was absent physically).

So, peanutbuttermewtwo, YOU wrote Mii, myself and Ai :D interesting, I read it, and was inspired to nickname Citrine from my fanfic "Ai" as an anti-existance for "Mii" and have a Yin and Yang effect going on (She also controls the Daleks) I still think that that Blue girl is Geneticly linked to Molly, but, you ARE right, she doese look a tad like Ai, but didn't Gym-leader Molly?

-^_^- yeah...I like to overanalyze and treat everything like it's worth philosophizing over. I'm very flattered, and will have to track down your fanfic. I think the blue-haired girl is probably not meant to refernce anyone, it was just an interesting artistic parallel. Gym-leader Molly definitely looked like her, intentionally.

note-- does anyone know where I can find the translated notes from the third movie book? I had 'em once...

Gym Leader Molly also resembles Maria from Xenogears...
Peanutbuttermew2: They're not written yet, due to various computer difficulties...I"ll link all of you to them, when I can

Yea!

One of my other theories that probably has absolutely nothing to do with P3 is that Molly = Jean Grey. Hear me out:

1. Tragic beginning. Molly accessed the unown after her father disappeared. Jean's telepathy kicked in when her friend died.

2. Cosmic power. Molly enjoys the ability to revise reality according to her wishes. Jean (as Dark Phoenix -- I haven't read the Phoenix saga) could telekinetically change stuff like a wrecked car into a whole one with one thought, plus she could go literally anywhere she wanted and this last time she became one with a broader Phoenix force that seemed to have every Phoenix ever created, which kinda looks like the swirling vortex reality of the unown.

3. Crystals. Molly's power is expressed through ornate crystals. Dark Phoenix could make a plant a crystal, plus there's the whole "M'Kraan Crystal" thing, which was the nexus of all realities.

Just a thought (drooling over X3's trailer)...

I see exactly where you're comming from, I may not be an X-men fan, (its good, but never grabbed me) but I can see the Parallels.

"Well Marie, have been good to your mother? *snears*
*Molly Breaks in* I didn't know this was a sad ocassion"~From Scene 21 "Encephalon"

"The question is, has my mother been good to me?"

(I, uh...really hope that was meant as a reference to what I thought it was a reference too. Well-read people are much less likely to be evil, I have found...)

it is a referencing to my "Molly pleads for Marie Fisher's Life" Scene, just for the heck of it

There are various LS references in TMC, I've shown some, most are with the coded words. the most show up in my tracklists

Oh, and PeanutbutterMew2, feel free to AIM me, at will, I'm most likely online

I saw the 3rd movie for the first time on New Years Eve. At first impression, I thought of Molly doing with the Unown as being "naughty", though afterwards, I quickly fell in love with her.

That's not uncommon, many people see it that way
few understand truly what she went through

It took me awhile to truly see that.

I've PLAYED Radical Dreamers, and gotten every ending. How do you get Pokemon 3 as having been based on Radical Dreamers?
