What are your guys's memories of Generation I?
I remember the commercial where that bus driver guy squishes all the Pokemon into the Gameboy. I also remember thinking that I HAD to be Ash in the game(I didn't know who Red was at the time).
I also thought that Onix was an unstopable beast until I captured him and he always fainted in one hit. :/

Holy! I remeber that exact same comercial, and I loved it too!

I don't have any memories of generation one or two, I just bought Red a few months ago..

I have a few memories of gen 1, right from the middle of its reign over the video game market.

I restarted the game no less than 7 times in one day, because I felt like it. I also remember catching my first mankey.

Man, I remember that one. My old videos of Pokemon has that commercial in it.

Missingno. ...
I remember that.

I also remember

I remember everything.

My first team of level 100 pokemon (I don't care about level 100's now, but I was so proud back then. And you needed a team of level 100's to beat Pokemon Stadium):

Blastoise (of course, the starter)
Flareon
Vaporeon
Mr. Mime
Zapdos
Raichu

They all knew Hyper Beam, because I thought that was the move to end all moves.

I think this commercial was on the VHS of the first movie. :p

I remember quite well the glitch to get Safari Zone Pokémon outside of SZ, and of course the Missingno. (I was told back then that capturing it was dangerous, thus I never caught it, just used it for cloning items). Once I mistakenly cloned myself 129 Bicycles.

I do remember the old TV-commercials too.
One I remember was about two kids playing Pokèmon in different buildings, then they threw their link cables across to each other's windows and from each side, Charizard, Blastoise and some other Pokèmon were balancing on the link cable to meet on the middle.
Ah...the time before wireless...
I also remembered my old (flawed) training method of always keeping the strongest Pokèmon on the top of my list, so my starters always got ridiculous amounts of EXP compared to everyone else, and my very first Charmander evolved into Charizard in one day.
My cousin almost trained his Blastoise till level 100 (I thought it was almost a shame that he found Missigno before he was able to train it legitimately.. He rare candied the final 3-4 levels.) Then his sister deleted the file...

I remember my friend coming to my home, and she brought her Gameboy with Yellow with her. I watched while she played. It was awesome. I got my first game a few years later, but it was gen 2 already.

I remember getting Yellow in Feb 2000. I was a pretty dumb noob, much like Ash himself was. The anime got me into it, so that's probably why. The very first poke I caught was a Pidgey. I simply just caught pokes from there, trying to decide what my team should be. I used to have an affinity for Nidos. (I still do in some form) Goodness knows how I even got by with the haphazardly slapped together team I had. Eventually, I gathered all three of the Kanto starters and I dragged them with me from a certain point, only keeping Pidgeotto and Graveler on me. I put Nido M in the day care, trying to see if it could raise pokes better than I could. I come to the Fuschia Gym, and hit a brick wall. Somehow, I still had the Kanto starters in their basic forms, and I realized that if I want to stand a chance, I need to evolve them. I think I managed to get all three of them to their final forms before I finally beat Koga. I did not return to check on Nido M until I was around Cinnabar Island. I finally got him back to find that both the poke does not evolve while in there (I seriously didn't know that), and that I had done a better job raising my pokes myself. (Impressive, I must say, considering I was an idiot) By the time I reached the league, I had pokes of varying levels, and it was really hampering me against the E4. This was where I finally adopted my current policy of equal training, and evened out their levels. This allowed me to win the E4, but not without some Potions and such. I felt this was not an honorable way to win, and later, and I swore to abandon the use of healing items entirely. I then faced Mewtwo, discovering very quickly that regular balls didn't seem to affect him. During this time, it was cool to use the Master Ball on him, but I had already used it to capture a Muk for a reason that I am not certain of. Thinking that there was no way to capture it except for the Master Ball, I instead fought it until I won, which I am unsure how I managed that, either. I think I almost died, if memory serves. I got a lucky Blizzard in from my Blastoise, which would serve to make me think it was my most powerful pokemon. (Technically it was, since it was L:70 or so and no one else was) I played the game endlessly. After catching everything I could, (Minus legends, as I didn't know how to do that yet) I just continued to train every poke I had. I got them all up to L:42 or so, with my team having reached L:77 or so before I got Silver. I eventually transferred all that game's data to Silver, and restarted the game to go back and get the pokes I missed due to certain choices in the game. I even managed to get the legends, as I learned how to do that by the time I faced Ho-oh. I seem to think that I got all of the first gen pokes but one, the event legend, Mew. The only glitches I used were first the one to get a shiny Ditto from Yellow, then, much later, I used the Mew glitch to finally complete my set of first gens. This would become short lived, though, as after having beaten FR, I finally decided to retire my first gen data, using the factory reset to clear the data ceremoniously so that my FR data would become the new representation of the first gen for me. I had trained my team of Raichu, Pidgeot, Golem, Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise to L:100, a record that remains unmatched to this very day. (I just don't have the patience anymore) Looking back, this game had probably the most primitive graphics I had experienced since the TI 99/4A, but I didn't care. I'd still play the game in it's original incarnation if I didn't feel that it wasn't necessary. I'm glad to have experienced all generations of this franchise, having at least gotten the second gen when it was released. We've both come a long way, and there is still more to come from both of us.

I remember when I first got the game some years ago now. :p Fun times, also remember how I thought it was very creepy especially Lavender Town and MISSINGNO.
Blue was my very first pokemon game when I was about 6 so I wasn't really good at playing it :p. My brother helped me. I was so scared when I saved the game rofl. Then about the end of the year I got Gold & Silver.
I wasn't into pokemon when I was 5 I think I liked Digimon..
-_-' Digimon to me now, well I kinda like it but ..at the same time I hate it

The uber elite super awesome motherfucking rare ultimate card of power or:

You had this card you were awesome.
Surprisingly I still have this card.

^I still have one of those burger king gold pokemon cards in my crawl space!

I just recalled that my first them consisted Pikachu, Squirtle, NideoM and NidoF, Onix, and Zubat. No wonder I lost to half of the gyms on the first try. Sabrina was especially hard because of the Nidos. Gosh...I was a horrible trainer. :p

That was an amazing commercial. I'll never forget it, that was my 2nd fav video game commercial EVER.

Man I remember that commercial. It was on one of my old Pokemon tapes. Good times.

Really, though, I don't have any specific memories of Gen I. Just remembering the good old days of starting out as Ash in Pallet Town and starting that epic journey through Kanto for the first time brings back great memories.

Ah, Gen I. <3

I have all of them. See through Pokeball and all.

I faintly remember the Bus Driver commericial as well and the other commercial where Pikachu crawls out of the GB.

I remember stealing my Brother's Red and playing his Yellow. We also collected tons of cards, he had a Mew (I think) and got ripped off in a trade though.
