Hi there!

I'm a long time lurker, new poster, but i'd like to announce a project i'm going to be working on called 'Gettin 493!' and i neef your help.

Basically i'm starting all my games from scratch to get all 493 pokemon onto one game. Of course there are some problems with this, e.g. Arceus, Deoxys etc, but only in cases like that will i be trading.

The games i'm using are Diamond (My main one in which all 493 pokemon will end up), Pearl, Leaf Green, Emerald, Colosseum, XD, Ranch (to get Mew) and Channel (to get Jirachi).

I'm running a blog - [link in sig]] - which will be following my process. I'll also be running polls to decide on team members and they'll be the occasional competition to win either a shiny or event (Which are on a seperate game to keep safe during this project).

As you can see from my signature, I'm also attempting to catch as many Pokemon as I can, but I know I'll never reach the magical 493 cause I lack the necessary games and patience.

But it's always fun to see a fellow fan work on a project like this, so I'll surely be following your blog. I tried to comment on it but for some reason I wasn't able to, but that's just probably me doing something wrong. :p Keep us updated!
 
how do u plan on getting celibi? That thing is basically impossible to get in america. If you go the GTS route you'll probably get a hack

Nintendo hates the world with all it's event exclusive pokemon and especially hates america to have a celibi

I'm not sure what to say about the comments though... it worked for me.

As for Celebi, that is one of my trade exceptions. I have a 10th Aniv celebi which i will trade to this game near the end. The same applies for Deoxys, Darkrai, Shaymin and Arceus. Only these 5 i will get from outside my games.
 
It is kind of advertising. But im not like a rival or anything. Its more... Looking for help with a personal thing. And i cant ask for help if you dont know what im on about...
 
What I'm saying is: you can't post about your own site. That's advertising. You can put it in your signature; but you can't discuss it like this, in a thread.

You can also use the blog here to..well, have your blog. That can also be put into your signature.

You can ask any questions about the games here, or use Bulbapedia.
 
Ah sorry. Ive removed the link from my post, and ill rephrase it to sound less advertising and more asking for help.
 
Okay, this is seriously weird.
When I started Pokemon Platinum I decided I would fill out the Pokedex.
Then when I did enough training to evolve most of my Pokemon people start wanting to fill their Pokedexes.
I know it's just coincidence but I just kind of find it weird that people are getting interesting in doing this now.
 
It's not that hard. It just takes a little patience and a lot of visits to the Trade Coordination Thread.
 
I'm actually working on my second complete pokedex. I have 492 (all but Arceus) in Diamond, and 435 so far in platinum, I'd have more but I've been mostly chaining in that game recently. Some pokemon, like deoxys, celebi and mew, I'll transfer over to my platinum just so I'll have the pokedex info on both....

You say you can get Mew from Pokemon Ranch? I did not know this. How do you get it?

You need to transfer in 999 pokemon, suggest you spend a lot of time on route 201 throughing many ultra balls
 
Yeah. Mew is going to be very tedious. But im going to do it.

I few people have posted on there, so thanks for the suport. Ill be starting the first game a bit later.

Damn, mad respect for completing a Gen III dex. The lack of online trading must have made it extremely difficult.

Haha, thanks! I lucked out because I have Colusseum and XD, and I know some people IRL who play Sapphire and FireRed, so I was able to trade for anything version-exclusive. It was actually more time-consuming than difficult, really. ;P
