getting 5 paintings in Emerald

I was wondering about this, I have 4, Cute, beauty, tough and cool, and I have won a Master smartness contest with a Gardevoir, but the guy didn't paint it. Is there something you need to do before winning to get him to paint the master smartness contest winner?

I'm pretty sure you either have to beat it three times or there is a chance that he doesn't paint it, in which case you need to try again and he might paint it.

I managed to get my ludicolo painted as it had "dazzling moves" but that was only beating all beauty ranks once, think you need to get high numbers of hearts in master rank

I think you need to win the contest by having an appeal that earns you more then 5 hearts in a single turn. But it's been a while since I've done a contest in Ruby and Sapphire...

 

[The Outrage]

When they tally up your score, you have to fill up nearly all of the heart guages. The lowest I had to fill it up was getting all but three of the guages filled.

It shouldn't be that hard to do with appeal combos.
