Like, in plain English. I have a mini laptop with only one gig, and after trying to download GIMP twice, now I often can't even display pictures. (I did delete all the contents)

So, how will GIMP affect my memory, ad how do you install and use it?

Which GIMP are you installing? Are you sure you removed the prior attempts completely?
