...So, She's here, and what can she do?

Have her level-up move set or base stats been revealed?

This is the most important information about her, and it's still unknown.

She doesn't factor into the plot outside of her own event; which I find a bit disappointing.

She has her own over-world, but not her own menu sprite, which I find just a tad lazy, but she is just a Pichu I suppose.

I was very excited about what I thought the GizaMimi Pichu might bring to the game, but in the end, it appears that she just another event.

So, your thoughts?

Mods, merge this with whatever else if you feel necessary, I thought this should have it's own thread.

Volt Tackle, Helping Hand, Swagger, Pain Split are the default moves and I'm pretty sure the rest would just be normal Pichus.

It was revealed recently that she was from the past which was an explanation why she couldn't evolve and couldn't be traded.

She also has a special connection with Celebi, or so I heard. I hope they expand this in Gen V and maybe give her an evolution.

Not a new evolution, but I can see spiky-eared Pikachus and Raichus, and aimilar slight variations on every Pokémon species, similar to Spinda's spots.

I meant something similar to this, but I think they should make her and her evos *superior* to the other Pikas of their kind to make up for not being in Gen IV. *shot* Since they ARE from the past and the Notched Ear must mean SOMETHING back then if it's not a genetic disorder.

Or we could have breeding differences next gen, that would make me estastic. ;D

My hypothesis is that this kind of Pichu have been among us all the time, it's just that we haven't payed attention to it, similar to gender differences. It just happened that this Pichu from the opast wa sone of those with a spkiy ear.

Yeah, I couldn't see them getting rid of SEP for Gen V. It would be like getting rid of Rotom's formes, it would be a waste of time for that pokemon.

Who knows. Maybe SEP was to Gen IV what Munchlax was to Gen III. Maybe SEP was some sort of test for giving more pokemon special formes and alterations like this.

Crappy, poorly-thought out marketing ploy that probably won't EVER pay off.

Why thank you, your blind guess has helped me alot!! [/sarcasm]
I've known what moves she has when she joins your party for awhile know, I'm inquiring about her level-up moveset.

Again, are there any deet's from the ROM? I'd go find it myself if I had the time and patience.

Hmmm, interesting theory. It would most definitely be a vastly superior subject for the regional professor to study, since imo, they haven't done much but give away pokemon since Gen 2.

Well, would assume that would be the case, which is why I'm hoping there might be some internal data about her in the ROM. There's got to be more that separates her from other Pichu besides a unique sprite, right?

I wonder if she'll be in Movie 13?, becuase I'm starting to get the feeling that she may be a major character in future games.

Me too!! <3

I was expecting something a bit harsher from you Zeta, for the most part, your predictions were spot on.
((Much to my disappointment.))

I'm pretty sure assuming it would be a different moveset is the blind guess (the other way is an educated guess).

No, I'd call them both blind guesses, since there's enough evidence for it go either way, so to speak.

It was said that HGSS was the training ground for potential new game mechanics.

Technically speaking her index number is still the Pichu number and in the dex she is just a form. Nothing that special about her except that she comes from past or future.

What's the precedent for it to change?
...There's not really a "precedent", being that this is the first time something as simple as this as gone on.

However, if you're referring to the evidence I mentioned,

For- New Forme, Featured in a Film, Event-Only Pokemon, has it's own sprite, Has it's own story, heavily promoted, etc etc

Against- Pichu, same pokedex entry, same index number, still Pichu, etc etc.

Hmm, didn't know that about her index number, thanks.

Any info about her base stats?

None of that's evidence for, that's just random unrelated information.

Against:
- Shellos, Unown and Spinda (all non-changable aternative formes) all don't have varying movesets.
- Event Pokémon (or Pokémon traded from side games) that have unique default moves, don't have different movesets.

.....
Sheimi's Land and Sky forme's have different level-up movelists.
Deoxy's has different level-up move lists for each of it's formes.
Minomadam has has different level-up move lists for each of it's formes.

Yes, but they aren't permanent formes among a species. Except for Burmy/Wormadam, after evolving. Shellos, Unown and Spinda are much closer to what this Pichu is like.
