Glitch Pokémon and Glitch Trainers

Alright so apparently there are various glitches in Pokémon games. I like the ones that helps us getting some real & rare pokémon (though the method is really lengthy).

But what's with people catching purely glitch pokémon and trying to find ways to battle glitch trainer? What's the big deal in this? All games have some glitch, and when it's this complicated, yet so small in size, glitches are obvious.

What's the fun in catching glitch pokémon, apart from trying to damage our ROM or save file

well, i once caught missingno. just out of curiousity. I think people do it out of curiousity.

Because getting away with something you're nit technically supposed to be doing is fun. Also, if you don;t care too much about your savefile it is kinda fun to watch them break your game.

Catching glitch Pokemon and battling glitch trainers doesn't always permanently damage the game, depending on which glitches they are, and as stated above, it's fun to get away with things you're not supposed to do. Some players do it out of a self-imposed challenge also.

Along with what is said in the above posts, my reason is this. I have a great fascination with seeing the games doing something they are not supposed to do. Something unplanned, something mysterious. Think of it this way. Without glitches, the game is fantastic, but it still has a written script of planned events which will unfold a certain way, no matter what. But with glitches, you can see things that nobody anticipated, make discoveries, and enter a world where you can never know for sure what will happen! Add to the fact that the Pokemon games have a sense of being in a closed world, and the thrill becomes very real!

Because breaking the game in many ways is fun. You can get extreme glitching or music glitches that are pretty trippy.


As for Rom damage, that's impossible, and while I never lost a save file on a real cart, I did have a save file that got mostly wrecked due to cross region trading.

I wish I knew. I'm more interested in glitches that are some how benefical or create interesting patterns of glitched up effects.
