Glitch pokémon locations?

...I'm still trying to get over this happening, but whatever.

Now, some background: I do not do hacks. I'm avidly against ROMs and I take newspapers to my friends who do. I do not condone hacks, but I have yet to delete a few Japanese ROM pogeys I got from a friend, sometime early last year. At the same time, I did a roundabout trade with my brother for an Arceus/Darkrai/Shaymin combo for the dex information only; those things didn't even leave the union room with me. But that was over the summer. They were the last hacked things my game ever touched. Back over the summer.

The issue: how in the bloody blazes did I find a lv 4 Bibarel in the Lake Verity area?

Now, underlevel evolved pogeys I'm used to: they have lv 30 Skuntanks on route 221, but those at least show up in an area they're supposed to be (dex area says so~). Bibarel? Not even a blip that far west on the map, let along in Lake Verity.

It worries me. 1:1,000 chance encounter, or did something minutely freak my game up and it only took me this long to realize, yeah, something could be wrong?

This can happen. It's part of the dongle method, and if you have a game inserted, Level.4 Bibarel and Staravia can appear near Lake Verity. Did you have a gen.3 three game inserted in the bottom slot?

Apparantly it's legit if you have either Fire Red, Leaf Green, or Emerald, except its only a 4% chance, so don't worry about it.

*headdesk* And you know what? I even considered the dongle method as a culprit, and then dismissed it just as readily. Yep, I haz a feirred in mah slot.

I caught a few lvl 4 Bibarels around there while chaining Surskit purely for the WTF!!!!! factor. I love them. I keep them buried away where no one will see them in my box, but I love them just the same.
