So, now we know the first details about the Pokémon Global Link upgrade that is occurring between 5-21st of June:

- First off, the C-Gear is getting a slight redesign. From the small picture, no new functions can be seen though.
- There will be new Dream World areas that will feature new Pokémon (whether this means "new" as in Pokémon not previously released or "new" as in Unova Pokémon is unknown). The first new area is called Cool Hole, so I expect that it will probably focus on ice and rock/ground types.
- A Global Trade Station feature will be added to the Global Link website, allowing you to check your own history and statistics.
- The time cut-off between sessions will be cut from 24 hours to 20 hours.
- If you have both a Black/White game a Black 2/White 2 game registered, you'll apparently unlock a special feature.

Oooo wow they cut the time limit by four hours. So generous of them.

I suppose its better than nothing, though.

Re: Global Link Upgrades Detailed

Ooh I cant wait to see what Pokemon are added. Id sure love to see some Ice types and other unreleased Pokemon there ( Imposter Ditto anyone?) I wonder what the special feature unlocked will be, makes me wish Id preordered a japanese copy of Black 2 to find out.

Re: Global Link Upgrades Detailed

Cool Hole, blaghhh. Hopefully they can localise it to something that doesn't sound too much like Giant Chasm.

Predictions:
Default Pokémon: Aron (Heavy Metal), Baltoy (Levitate), Cleffa (Friend Guard), Cubone (Battle Armor), Delibird again (Insomnia), Diglett (Sand Force), Geodude (Sand Veil), Nosepass (Sand Force), Lunatone (Levitate), Onix (Weak Armor), Seel again (Ice Body), Solrock (Levitate), Shuckle (Contrary), Spheal (Oblivious), Swinub (Thick Fat), Whismur (Rattled), Zangoose (Toxic Boost)

7,500 points: Cranidos (Sheer Force), Shieldon (Soundproof), Sneasel (Pickpocket), Snover (Soundproof)

10,000 points: Munchlax (Gluttony), Snorunt (Moody)

Items: pinch Berries (hopefully, more likely the unreleased sellable Berries), weather rocks, NeverMeltIce, Pass Orb (obviously)

I had predicted Eevee would be released imminently based on the other Pokémon from the Café Forest being released, but I doubt it.

Looks like my guess on the contest thread was right on the money here.

Re: Global Link Upgrades Detailed

Just curious about the registration promotion thing - if you have Black, do you have to register Black 2? Just wondering if it will be as specific as that or if it will be more general (so long as you have one of them).

Looking forward to seeing the C-Gear - wonder if we'll get to keep all our current download skins, etc for it or if they'll start a whole new run... I hope we get to keep what we already have, would kinda be a waste otherwise as it would allow them to continue to do promotions for both the original games and their sequels.

I'm excited to see that new areas and more Pokémon are going to be available. I presume that all the current (old) areas will still be available, so there's hopefully gonna be a huge amount of Pokémon available between the Dream World and the main games - more is better in my opinion.

Re: Global Link Upgrades Detailed

Also I heard you will get points every 100 days depending on how many berries you have(they basically expire after 100 days except one of them)

Re: Global Link Upgrades Detailed

Cool Hole? That sounds interesting... maybe Ice types and Water types.

I still wish that the time limit was reduced to something like 12 hours, but 20 isn't too bad :)

I don't understand this. Does that mean the ridiculous 24 waiting time that occurs if your DS has internet connection issues, etc. has been reduced to a tiny bit less ridiculous 20 hours, or does this mean you lose 4 hours that you can be on the Global Link before the pokemon wakes up?

I still have my fingers crossed that they finally have fixed the too many to list problems with the GTS. I hope one of these days it becomes useful...

I'm hoping it's general, it'd kinda suck to need the direct canon sequel to the previous game you registered since some people are wanting to swap their black/white choices.

Personally, this "special feature" is going to have to be one HELL of an amazing thing if they want me to register White 2 on the same account as my White. If i'm going to lose out on being able to get multiple of an event pokemon that's "one per account" (like those all male DW Eeveelutions) then i expect an even trade off.

From what it sounds like, you only have to wait 20 hours between each session, as opposed to the regular 24.

Re: Global Link Upgrades Detailed

The name "Cool Hole" sounds silly to say at least. I hope we'll at least get some cool (khem) DW Pokemon over there. I'd love to have a female Thick Fat Swinub for once.

Since they actually bothered to change the time gap between each DW session, they should've dropped it to 12 hours or something. It still prevents players from abusing the Dream World and makes it much less annoying for those who change their DS/internal clock regularly. 4h just won't make any noticeable difference IMHO.

Dream World aside, I can't wait to see the renewed GBU. This time with a better ladder system and DC control, hopefully!

If a player has kept several of each type of berry owned in the player's Treasure Chest for 100 days all copies will be absorbed by the Tree of Dreams and converted into Dream Points. This time limit started on May 1 which is before the maintenance period.

I keep 5 of each berry stocked up just because i go OCD about the number. I'm going to be so mad if they're taken away D: Some of those berries take an absurd amount of days to grow! I'm hoping if you use the Shelf Glitch that the number of days you've had them in your chest resets. (And by Shelf Glitch i mean you can use the shelf to store things temporarily so that you can trade for more of w/e you already have from someone else's shelf, as things you place on the shelves don't count as "in your bag")

Re: Global Link Upgrades Detailed

Some of the updates to the DW have been revealed:

  • 5th Gen mons will be found in the DW if you are using B2W2 (Drilbur is shown in the new Cold Cave area)
  • New mini-games
  • Pokemon Cafe mini-game returns
  • Pokemon Doll decorations added

The biggest of these is, by far, the inclusion of 5th Gen pokemon in the DW (something I thought they wouldn't do since it's a slap in the face for BW players who can't get them). I'm very happy about it though. It will give me something else to collect! xD

Unova Pokémon Confirmed for Dream World

Many people say it, few people will be surprised. A new image has surfaced that confirms that Unova-native Pokémon will be available in the "Cool Hole" area of the Dream World if they are accessed with a Black 2 or White 2 game - although only one Pokémon is confirmed so far, which is Drilbur.

This brings the currently confirmed list of Unova Pokémon with available or soon-to-be available Hidden abilities to 9:
- Munna (Breed Musharna)
- Musharna (Fridays - Dreamyard in BW)
- Drilbur (Cool Hole)
- Excadrill (Evolve Drilbur)
- Darumaka (Breed Darmanitan)
- Darmanitan (Resort Desort - BW)
- Tornadus (Pokémon Dream Radar)
- Thundurus (Pokémon Dream Radar)
- Landorus (Pokémon Dream Radar).

Pokémon available through the Dream Radar have also been confirmed to have their Dream World abilities as well, so hopefully we'll see a fair few Unova Pokémon crop up.

Here's hoping for a Wii RPG containing a respectable number of Pokémon with their hidden abilities. I don't care either for the Dream World or the Dream Radar.

Re: Unova Pokémon Confirmed for Dream World

Does this mean they've finally created overworld sprites for all pokemon? Seeing as before when you transferred them they showed up in that forest in their overworlds, unless that's changed...

If so then they have no excuse for pokemon walking not to return  *will never give up hope*

Anyway this sounds pretty cool! I never used the Dream World much so I might have to start.

Screenshots have already shown overworld sprites for Unova Pokémon that previously didn't have them, like Galvantula, so it is likely.

It is a shame about walking Pokémon though, that was a cool feature.

Re: Unova Pokémon Confirmed for Dream World

The biggest tease about is that in the promotional video, practically every character was seen with a Pokemon beside them, blatantly making it look like walking Pokemon were in the game. xD

Re: Unova Pokémon Confirmed for Dream World

Shadow Tag Chandelure's gonna do some serious damage if it becomes a reality.
