  1. She/Her
Lucifer looked around the empty warehouse, a few empty crates left in it, two people sitting on them. This was trespassing. Definitely trespassing. Not that the two people seemed to care. He took them in, a man and a woman. The woman had long blonde hair and royal blue eyes, her clothing light, white, and flowy. The man looked like he was in business with his suit and slicked back black hair and steel grey eyes. Definitely a strange pair, but they were in love obviously. He could tell from the way they looked at each other and held each other’s hands, just like his parents.

Unlike the others around them though. No one seemed to know anyone and they seemed to range from teenagers to adults. Seriously that guy had to be like forty something. The true question was, why were they here?

“I bet you all are wondering why you are here,” the man started speaking. “Well we’re obviously the ones that sent you those letters.”

The letters. All the same most likely. Come to this place at this time for a great opportunity. Made sense. If you were an idiot. He guessed they all were though because they all showed up for it. Under normal circumstances he wouldn’t have shown up, but the handwriting actually seemed really genuine and not the kind of person looking to rape and disembowel you. It was like a very addicting drug, and now here they were. Yeah something was off.

“I’m James,” the man continued.

“And I’m Victoria,” the woman greeted them. “We have invited you here to offer you a special job. The job being God Hunters.”

Great so they wanted them to spread Atheism.

“And by that we man the hunting of demons and angels which are very real and do exist,” James said.

“When someone wants a certain demon, or angel, or even multiple gone, then they hire God Hunters. Usually the one doing the hiring has the ability to do it, and by that I mean give you guys special powers.” Victoria looked to James for continuation.

“We want all of you to hunt down the Seven Sins and Virtues, and to seal them.”

Yup crazy. These people were insane. Hunt down sins and virtues? Yeah right. And yet if they could give them special powers then why not? It would explain the enticing letters.

“And how would we do that?” Lucifer asked them.

“We would make a contract with you and give you powers. We would also help as much as we can. If you succeed then you get to keep your powers. If you fail then well you’ll end up losing them. Virtues won’t take lives but sins might try. We’ll of course protect you in that case,” James explained to them.

“And we defeat them with these powers? What do we do? Kill them?”

“Not exactly,” Victoria took over. “While some demons and angels can be taken care of permanently. Stronger ones such as well the sins and virtues cannot be erased. They however can be sealed and that’s what we want you to do.”

“How do we seal them?”

“Not we. You. We weakens them. You seal them as bookkeeper.” Lucifer was about to ask another question when James pointed to his hands, showing that the young librarian now had a leather bound, large book in hand. “You will take them into that book, and seal them. You must keep them in there, and if you let one out then you must recapture them. If you die…then we’ll figure something else out. Give the book to another or something. What? I was just joking,” he said the last part towards Victoria as she shot him a look for his bad joke.

“Why me? As bookkeeper. Why any of us for this?”

“We studied all of you and decided you would be the best group. And we chose you Lucifer as bookkeeper because you seem like you would best handle it. You are a librarian after all,” Victoria said to him. “As for the rest of you, you should know your powers since they are what you thought about. Basis wise anyways. Work hard and they will grow.”

“By the way considering this warehouse is completely illegal, we need a new meeting place,” James chimed in.

“Why invite us here then? Are you trying to get us arrested?” Lucifer yelled at him. James merely shrugged it off. Yeah because these guys were talking about powers and made a book appear in his hands so no doubt they wouldn’t be arrested. “Fine,” he sighed. “We can use my library.”

“Good boy,” James smiled, causing Lucifer to face palm.

"Wait you're acting like all of us have already decided."

"Because you have."

"Can you guys read minds?"

"To a point."

"Don't worry. We can't dig, and its only very select things. Such as what abilities you want, which we have given you. The contract is mental and binding. If you back out then you lose your powers," Victoria cut in.

"So our powers are the payment?"

"Yes and trust me they can be quite useful," she assured them.

"Now then," James smiled. "Any other questions?"

Sky simply watched the two people before the handful of adolescents. She said nothing, her goldenrod irises holding an unreadable expression. To her, the job seemed rather straightforward - no questions were on her mind.

Sean accepted the proposal immediately, even before hearing about the superpowers. "If God has sent me a message, it's my duty to follow through"

Suki was standing in the doorway, chewing on her bubblegum with a loud smacking noise, the pink gum that she blew into a bubble matching her neon pink hair. Grinning, she nodded as well. "Sounds like a blast!" She said eagerly after popping the bubble with her tongue. "I'm in!"

Josh had spent a good long while wondering what the letter was about. It was really weird. He had guessed that he was going to be asked to join some kind of cult. It did offer him power. He had no idea what that meant. Maybe some kind of discount on the electricity bills? He and his mom butted heads a lot, but when it came down to it, Josh helped her when he could. And he was always a risk taker. So he had come to the warehouse, and there he was, leaning against the wall, his eyes shut. It might have looked like he was asleep. But that was just how he looked when he was thinking hard.

Once the pair had given their speech, Josh opened his eyes. They were a very dark shade of brown. He surveyed the room. A small gang had gathered. Most of them his age, but there was a middle-aged man in the group. Josh's powerful arms were crossed.

"So we have superpowers now?" Josh asked.

Winter only nodded. Truth be told, the prospect of this mission was making her a bit apprehensive. Seemed as if she'd be diving headfirst into danger; powers or not, that ran the risk of death. But, contracts were binding, she supposed - she knew that when she accepted her abilities.

Akako mulled over everything that was said, and decided to accept, regardless of the fact that the sheer thought made her right shoulder hurt. She rubbed the brace on her shoulder, adjusted her sunglasses and nodded. "I'm in," she declared, "for better or worse."

Emiri stood there dumbfounded, she was trying her hardest to process everything that had been explained to them. If anything she felt like they were just ebing forced with that long winded explanation and revelation about having powers. She didn't feel any different though, if anything that just made her more scared of these guys. No one else seemed to voice any concerns though, grnated her own curiosity had to make her talk. "Um....How are we suppoed to believe this?"

Emiko nervously raised her hand.

"So we're not really getting paid money?" She was hoping that this job would make her father happy. How was she going to do that if there was no money involved? She was starting to think that this was a bad idea, and cursed whatever had driven her to come here.

"Also is this a team effort? Like we're going to need book boy over there if we want to seal the sins and virtues right?"

"You already believe it. We can somewhat read your minds," Victoria answered Emiri.

"Which we already stated," James pointed out annoyed. "As for money. We can help you out some there. Don't see why not."

"Why do I get the feeling your method is illegal," Lucifer sighed.

"His is. Mine isn't. And yes a team effort," Victoria spoke.

"And we think that's it. Now your first target is Chasity. Enjoy," James told them getting up.

"Wait how do we find them?"

"Research. Unfortunately we can't help you more than that. We'll be in contact," Victoria answered.

"Oh and that guy is massively radiating heat so keep him away from books if they're the easily flammable kind, otherwise poof," James pointed to Sena.

"Brilliant," Luficer muttered as the two left. He ran out to see that they themselves had gone poof. "Well then...um I'm going to my library to start researching. You guys are welcome to come and..." he looked around, frowning at what was around before finding a loose nail and scratching into one of the crates. "That's my number if anyone needs. It's the Brother's Grimm Library in the city if you want to come down...though man I can feel the heat coming from you. Can you turn that off?" he asked Sean. "If not then not to be rude but avoid my books. We have some really old books at the library. So yeah," he told them before leaving himself and beginning to head back towards the library.

Once back he breathed in the smell. It was actually quite large with multiple floors, and much wood and comfortable chairs. Books were well organized and there was all kinds. There was also a section for DVDs and CDs to be rented, and an area of newspapers and magazines. It was pretty cool. The check out desk was at the front and while they had a laptop for things, they were also quite old fashioned. He began looking around, listening for others to come in via the bell by the door. He went straight to the area that would have sins and virtues.

Josh was getting really skeptical, and then he saw that the pair had disappeared. He went over, but try as he might, he couldn't find any secret exits or trap doors they could have used. He looked at the number on the crates. His mom was on another bender, so he didn't want to go home anyhow.

"If these clowns are just trying to get me to join some cult..." Josh muttered. He then turned to the group. Most of them were girls, and it was a bad part of town. "I'm headed to the library. If anyone else is walking, they should come with." He might have seemed friendly...If it weren't for the bad case Josh had of Resting Male Bitch Face. Truthfully, Josh was a loner by nature. But even if he was kind of a jerk, letting a lady walk alone in this part of town just wasn't something he was okay with. He grabbed his denim jacket from the crate he had left it and walked out of the warehouse, heading for the library.

"Lucy! You here!" He called out, pushing the door open. He had forgotten that you're supposed to be quiet in a library.

"Yeah, I'm comin'. This heat's messin' with my shoulder," Akako said, following closely behind Josh while massaging her right shoulder under the brace. She wasn't sure what to make of the whole thing, honestly. Being under contract to hunt down supernatural beings? The whole thing stank, even with the powers. It did give her a way to kill time, however, and she sorely needed something for that, so she chose to go along with it.

"Didn't anyone tell you to be quiet in a library," Lucifer answered with boredom. He set a large stack of books down on the front desk. "These should help us figure out about Chasity. I'm assuming that the sins and virtues are nearby, for some reason because having us travel around the world would just be a pointless thing."

Sky had arrived on her own, watching the others. "No need to yell, you know.." She muttered to the loud man, heading over to Lucifer's gathered pile of books.

"It's a place to start, at least."

Winter entered the library, raising an eyebrow at the impressive pile of books. Perfect. And it seemed that Sky had the same idea - she walked toward the books as well, looking to Lucifer. "Do you mind if I start reading?"

Akako was oddly silent, just standing off to the side, massaging her shoulder as she had been the whole time, with a grimace on her face. Part of her was in awe at the library, another part was still mulling over their ordeal.

"Right, sorry." Josh said. It had honestly been a long time since he'd been to the library. He felt a little uncomfortable. Like a Christian might feel when going to church after an extended bout of sinning. He'd been a good student when he was young. But then the bullying, and skipping class, and then teachers started treating him like a criminal...Well, he wasn't exactly the most scholarly these days.

But he had seen his fair share of detective shows.

"What about the periodicals? See if anything strange is in the newspaper." Josh said, hanging his jacket up on a coat hanger. He was hoping they had Shonen Jump too. He noticed Akako running her shoulder. Hadn't she been doing it on the way here too?

"You okay?" Josh asked her.

"Eh? Yeah, yeah, I'm fine," Akako replied offhandedly, not wanting to show how much pain she was truly in. She was kind of glad that she had her sunglasses, so no one could see the pain in her eyes. At the thought of her glasses, she reached up and adjusted a lever on each side of her sunglasses, making them darker to compensate for the lighting in the library. "That guy, with his heat... he aggravated an old injury." She motioned to the brace she was rubbing under, wincing a little.
