Godzilla (franchise) based pokemon?

well has any one noticed that almost a quater of pokemon are based on godzilla monsters. like tyranitar and gojira, buterfree mothra,Hydreigon and king ghidorah(the two are almost exactly the same!)

It has a lot to do with the Godzilla series monsters not being compltely original. Hydreigon is based on a Hydra as is King Ghidorah. Butterfree and Mothra? What? Butterfree is a simple butterfly. Volcarona would be a btter comparison to Mothra.

Tyranitar though is a different case.

Not to mention Feraligatr, definite Godzilla vibes off that poke. Also since the whole Godzilla thing came from Japan, which in turn popped out pokemon so there ya go.

Godzilla never had wings, nor looked like a gargoyle in my memory.

EDIT: though Godzilla's nephew, Godzooky did have wings, though they were more in the style of Lexington's wings from....Gargoyles. oh i c what they did there. or i'm just sleep deprived and grasping at straws. idk.

In Pokemon Movie 10 and above where Palkia appears, it has a mix of Godzilla's roar.

The giant Caterpie episode reminds me of baby Mothra
