Lately, I've been worried about going bald. I've noticed the hair towards the front of my forehead appears to be thinner than the hair on the rest of my head. Unfortunately, I can't for the life of me remember if it always looked this way, or if I'm just noticing it for the first time. I don't really have anyone around me to compare it to. Tell me, does your hair thin out towards the forehead? I don't really see it except when I'm brushing my teeth and leaning downwards a bit. It's perplexing me, and I'm really worried. Ugh. I feel so old. Anyone else have similar concerns?

Same here, kinda. I've noticed my hair is much thinner in the front than it used to be, and its definitely receding in places.

I sure as hell hope it doesn't get worse, because I am nothing without my hair. I simply cannot imagine myself with a shaved head like all those other guys you see walking around, I simply don't work that way. I like my hair too much and just want my damn hair to stay.

I don't really plan on worrying about it unless it really becomes noticeable, because right now its still mostly fine and I have a full head of hair that grows back after I get a haircut. I'll just see what happens as I go along.

My fronthead is worrisomely thin. According to Firefox's spellchecker, "worrisomely" is a word but "spellchecker" isn't. Go figure, Firefox. Stupid adverbs.

As I was saying, my frontward hair is of a thinness unpalatable. And I don't know why. Premature balding? My dad has some thinning in the fronthead, but I've never checked to see if it's about mine. I see my hair in the mirror and understand why people listen to the "grow more hair, you know you want more" commercials.

It's mysterious. And maddening. And likely genetic.

I´m 22 now, my father is bald, my gradfathers are both bald and I think I am going to be bald eventually as well. But I got the hair from my mother and it is as thick and "Beautiful" :p as ever...

I´m not that afraid of it anyway, maybe we should talk in 5-6 years again about this and see who´s the first baldy-person of us ;)

urgh..I just cannot resist...:
WHY AM I SO BALD? :p

I come from a family of thick-headedness, so I'm probably good.

Unfortunately, I also seem to have excess facial hair...ugh. :(
Well, not like a beard...but lately I've noticed my face will get hairy by the end of the day, and I HATE facial hair.

IIRC, it's your mother's side of the family that you should be looking at if you're worried about balding, based on how genetics are passed down... don't quote me on that, though.

Makes me kind of glad that I'm not only female, but have genes for extremely thick hair. :p

Yes I worry about my hair as well. But its not receding from the front but rather fading from the spot kinda in the back are of your head but kinda close to the top were your hair starts at. But its been that way ever since I was little and it has never changed gotten worse or better and no one in my family has balding problems so i dun worry about it to much.

Hmmm... my hair strands was falling out in somewhat larger-than-usual numbers not too long ago, although that problem has went away. At that time, I spoke to one of my older colleagues at the military camp I'm at, and he says that soya bean milk , which contains uric acid, can actually encourage hair fall Oo . I guess diet may be playing a part - they say that instant noodles (or instant ramen - whatever) are especially harmful to hair. I heard of one case where a primary/elementary (depending on what you call it) school girl started losing her hair; she hated fruits and vegetables but loved instant noodles, and rarely washed her hair, which contributed to her hair loss.

As for genetics, I'm glad that my relatives on my maternal side have heads full of hair. I guess I will have a head full of hair for years to come - I seriously can't imagine myself shaved (which I had to go through when I was enlisted into the military in late 2005 >< ).
