Golbat - > Crobat: FireRed

So my Golbat is currently at level 23. I was training, and he jumped to level 24, and then, he started to evolve. BUT. He didn't? All it says is "...?" And then he's Goldbat again.

Am I missing something?

You cant have any Johto or Hoenn Pokemon until you get the National Dex.

I really thought that was one of the most weak and nonsensical parts of the remake.

I agree they should have had Crobat in the pokedex, pre national, for that obvious reason said above.
