What are some good places? The only place I've found is Steel Island when Riley is with you, as you heal after every battle and the Pokemon give generous amounts of Exp.

Yeah, Iron Island was a good place to train. Can't say much except for Victory Road, which is STILL slow.

Is it just me, or do Diamond and Pearl seem to offer squat for good training pre-E4? I went to a few different places, partially because things got far too languid when training in one place for so long. Even training my team a mere 7 levels apiece was an overly arduous task.

But...if I had to offer my two cents on solid places...Victory Road. It was the place I had the quickest success, really. The route before Gym 8 offers a lot of EXP for each Gyarados you beat in trainer battles, same with Lopunny and the night watchman's Noctowl and Machoke. Otherwise...just outside Veilstone, with the trainer who's got Monferno and Gyarados along with the girl who uses Kadabra and Glameow.

The route next to Sunnyshore has wild Purugly in Pearl. They give crazy EXP.
Basically, the thing you should do is abuse the Vs. Seeker and the EXP Share.
Also, that huge mountain I can't remember the name of.

I've been using the route right to the west of Sunyshore (Route 222?). The Gastrodon and Floatzel there seemed to give out decent EXP and I had better luck leveling my team there than in Victory Road.

I train outside of Sunyshore, it's probably the best place....nice Pokemon and some great experience. I trained both of my Ambipom here and it produced wonderous results.

Outside Sunnyshore by the beach. There's a load of Gyarados fishers and a chick with a Lopunny. But as for me... I would go to Veilstone Dept. Store, buy a buckload of steroids, I mean, calciums/zincs/carboses/proteinses and stuff. Just spend ALL your money. You won't be needing it. Then go to the Elite Four and just go wild, battling until you lose [the monetary gain the E4 makes doesn't exactly get out of your wallet, cuz you spent it all, so yeah. Besides, you still get a generous portion afterwards]. Soon enough, after four tries for me, I beat the champion. Yippers.
