Hello, all people reading this post! I've been hovering around Bulbapedia ever since 9th grade, when a friend in my biology class told me that "EVs" were more than adorable, genetically unstable fox Pokemon. Now, many, many years later, I have decided to create an account on the Bulbagarden forums.

So, a little bit about my Pokemon journey. My first Pokemon game experience was over a decade ago. My mom (rather unsubtly) told me that she would be getting me a Game Boy Color and one game for my birthday. My choices were Pokemon Silver and The Wild Thornberrys: Rambler. I didn't know much about either game series, but I couldn't stand The Wild Thornberrys cartoon, so I immediately chose Pokemon Silver. Best decision I ever made. I spent countless hours on that game and to this day would probably rank it as one of my top ten favorite video games. A few months later a friend of mine gave me Red and Yellow, which I loved almost as much. A couple years later another friend lent me Ruby which I found...disappointing, to say the least. I was going to be done with the Pokemon games, but that aforementioned biology classmate showed me the hidden mathematical and competitive depths of the series, and (according to Internet reports at the time) Diamond/Pearl looked to be much better than Gen III. So, I took a chance on Pearl, fell in love with the series again, and have been getting at least one game per gen since then (SoulSilver, Black, Black 2, and most recently Y). My favorite Pokemon has always been Alakazam, sort of. As a child, I never had anyone to trade with, so Kadabra was the Pokemon I used and liked the most. I assume, though, that I would have loved Alakazam even more back then, if I had been given the opportunity to use one.

Graduated with my degree in Electrical Engineering a little while ago and am now in that delightful period between graduation and landing a job. Here's hoping that one comes soon. Pokemon aside, I enjoy writing stories, watching cartoons/anime, programming, most genres of music, and have recently begun studying Japanese in the hopes of one day taking over Sony.

My username and signature quote come from the main antagonist of one of my favorite video games, Fire Emblem. I've always had a soft spot for the villains in a series (Lord Zedd from Power Rangers, Queen Beryl from Sailor Moon), and Nergal is no exception. I've been using his name as my own username on many sites since 2004, so if you see a "Nergal" or "Dark Druid Nergal" on another website, there's a 40% chance it's me.

With that long-winded introduction out of the way, I shall say that it is nice to finally be a member of the forums, and I look forward to meeting and conversing with you all soon.
