Guess what officially got confirmed to be delayed until November today, guesses anyone? Its the PS3. They've been having production issues so all of you planning to buy, one, the release date is November until further notice.

Wow, cool! Thanks ;-) I will save up money for the PS3. I always wanted one. Can't wait until November! (Unless they change the release date!)

Kater is, of course, ignoring the fact that only really the Japanese launch was delayed and that the PS3 will be launching worldwide in November, thus bringing it to America at the same time it was ever likely to get there and to Europe a good 6 or so months before we'd ever normally see it.

It's more good news for Sony if they can actually stick to it (See the PSP) and actually pull it off (See the 360).

And it's pretty bad news for Nintendo too. It means they're left alone to either decide to release the Revolution staggered as usual, meaning that Europe probably wont see the system before 2007 or attempt their own simultaneous release.

Worse still, the Revolution was last pegged to be out anywhere for November. If the Revolution launched against the PS3 it'd be slaughtered.

Nintendo think the innovations can catapult them beyond the PS3, but I can easily see the PS3 winning this Christmas if both lauch in November. Then again, if Nintendo use what they have learnt from the DS, then it might not do too badly on release. And from there I can potentially see 2007 as being a good year for the system...

Thing is, Nintendo systems always have lously launches with few, if any, good games. We'll likely not see the "must-buy game" appear until 2007.

Funny enough, if you do the entire launch window, the GC had the best launch of the current-gen systems (not counting DC)... Launch periods are generally very bad (once again, not counting the DC).

lol I didn't even know that PS3 had a release date.

Well, isn't a new Super Smash Brothers supposed to launch together with the Revolution?

Nintendo have already stated several months ago that they want to have a simultaneous worldwide release of the Revolution, and Iwata said more recently (a week or two ago) that they don't want to release any later than the US Thanksgiving holiday.

No offense guys, but the PS3 can release whenever the hell it wants - it's going to mop up just like its predecessors.

As for Nintendo, they can also release whenever they want, the market will be ready for the Revolution or it won't - my guess is, Japan will be, but everywhere else won't...

I don't see anyone here saying that they can't release whenever they want. o_O

I think Nintendo has learned they're lesson from the Gamecube. I'm 100% sure that they will launch with a Mario game, preferably Mario 128.

I've actually been listening on some Nintendo stuff and that Mario 128 is the codemane for the next Mario game. Mario 128 is Mario Sunshine and Mario 128 is the 1st Mario Revolution title speculated to be as Super Smash Bros. due to a recent article i read about.

I never liked the PS3 because:
1. It's sooooo expensive
2. Whats the point of Blu-ray, because of more compacity?
3. PC Gaming is way much better
4. No games on the PS3 interest me.

I'll stick with the Revolution and PC Gaming, thank you. ^_^

Well I'm not very interested in games on the Revoltution at the moment but that's just because we hardly know anything yet and I'm sure I'll still buy one at some point.

Oh wait... the NES/SNES/N64 games. Never mind. ^_^
