If you go to www.google.com you will see a big change. You can now change the background of the homepage. You can choose from public galleries or upload your own. I personally think this is pretty cool, but it takes a while to load the page.

It looks like they are doing this to try and compete with www.bing.com which is search engine Microsoft has been trying to promote and make really popular.

Anyways opinions on this?

I like the feature. But, there's one thing I don't like about it: it doesn't allow images that are less than 800 pixels x 600 pixels to be used.

I like it. Haven't tried it yet, but I like the function. Very much like Bing and Ask.

Cool idea, here's what I did:
You don't even need to open the spoiler to guess what image I used, just look at my avatar.
picture.php

That's right; it's frikkin' Giygas!

I'm excited to see the feature land to the Finnish version, too. But is the background the only change there? I don't see it as a "big change".

I like simplicity, none of this flashy stuff. I will stick to my plain white background. The primary reason I started using Google in the first place nearly a decade ago was because it didn't have the mumbo jumbo of Alta Vista or Yahoo.

I've noticed this new change, I like how Google is starting to get competition with Bing. It allows new features to be developed.

More Features=Yay for me

That fact that you can upload your own is preety cool. Bing is crap btw.

I've seen no difference. Just the plain 'ol google logo on a white background.

Also, who the hell uses Bing anyway?
