great idea? or flop?

hey, who here liked the new idea of having the berry pots? did you prefer it when you had to find your berries or was it more convenient when you had them in your bag? or did you just not use them at all? (sorry if this thread exists i looked but couldn't find any others like this)
 
Well.. I like the idea, but i don't use it a lot. The sad thing is, the only way to get berries is via your mom. But that's probably because Johto & Kanto didn't have Berry trees, and never will have Berry trees.
 
I love it. I like not having to travel all the world to get one little berry. What's even worse is forgetting where I planted a certain berry.

This way...it's on me at all times. :]

On topic of berries: is it better to use or to give the super-effective berries? Cause I have a whole stockpile of what seems like all of them.
 
I loved the Berry Pots. They were a really easy way of growing berries, and a fun way too.

First of all, there are many other ways to get berries. You can get them in the Pokewalker, for instance, or from the Jugglers in Violet and Fuschia who trade them for shards. Secondly, Johto and Kanto DID have berries in the original GSC. They weren't the modern berries, of course (remember PRZCureBerry?), so Nintendo decided to replace all the berry trees with Apricorn trees, rather than replace the tried-and-true method of planting whatever berries you choose.

Back on topic, I've used the Berry Pots less than I ought to. They make it much easier to maintain a berry plant, but so far I've only used them to grow the Oran Berries I needed to cure MooMoo the Miltank.
 
I never grew berries in D/P/Pt but I did in HG so yes, I would like the Berry Pots to stay.
 
I love em, I have got sooo many berries now xD I kinda went over board and now I have like 60 occa berries
 
The first thing to do once you get the Berry Pots after defeating the Sudowoodo is to plant some Oran Berries so that you can use them later to heal the sick Miltank.

I like the Berry Pots a whole lot better than having to go and find the tree, as I usually end up killing the trees and forgetting about them.

Went a bit overboard too on the Oran Berries too, and I have quite a lot. It is a pain that all the player's mother is giving now is berries as I would rather have items.
 
It's a good idea. It's just that they should of introduced this back in sinnoh. That way, u don't need to fly to a specific area to plant and pick ur berries. In Johto, it's almost useless since there is no berry plants anywhere and the only place to get berries is from either your mom or the dept. stores, etc.
 
As it was said before, they replaced all the berry plants in Johto with Apricorn trees.

My guess is that they intended the Berry Planters to be the primary method of growing berries.
 
I like the Berry Pots. I leave it registered, so I see it on the bottom screen, and it reminds me to go and water them. I never bother planting berries in Sinnoh of Hoenn, as I always forgot.
 
I sort of like the Berry Pots, but having just 4 berry planting spots isn't enough for me, and the SquirtBottle can't be used on all of them at the same time like is the case with the Sprayduck.

Moreover, in Platinum, while I'm breeding I frequently travel back and forth between Solaceon Town and the Fight Area, thus I have access to the nearby 12 loamy-soil spots very quickly and in the end, having a portable device to be able to do it anywhere or not is pretty irrelevant, for me at least.
 
My berry pots dont work and it annoys me. I've been trying to grow an Oran berry for five days D:<
 
I like them. They are easier to keep track of and are very simple to water and maintian. Its great to know where all my berries are and be able to check them all at once.
 
I think it was a great idea. In the previous games I would always forget where I planted the berries.
 
Love it. I wish there was like, 10 though. And people gave you berries moore often.
