Greek Pokemon!

Ok, one of my friends is going to Greek and I wanted to know do they have Pokemon in Greek. And if so, do they have diffrent names?

Card game? Yes.

Anime or any of the mangas? Not sure.

Seeing as they were allowed to compete in Europe's tournament for Pokemon Trading Card Champion though, I'm pretty sure they at least have the anime as well.

Yes, there is Pokemon in Greece. THey have the games, the anime, the whole deal.

Or at lesat they did for awhile. I had a friend from Greece who would talk about it :3

Since this isn't the first such request, maybe we should look into adding Pokémon names from all different languages to Bulbapedia...

It would become excessive quite quickly. The current set of Japanese, French, German, and Korean is probably where we will max out at.

We can always add lists of them separately from the Pokémon articles.

Irrelevant to the post but

my friend went on the yearly school Europe trip this year. One of the destinations was Greece.
He brought me back a bag of Cheetos (don't know which kind, I don't think we have them here in Southern California) with a little banner hanging from the front the obviously had something to do with Pokemon.
They were promoting the Fire Red/Leaf Green Release with spinning tops (those Beyblade type things)
I never opened the bag, and judging from feeling around, you probably had to buy the tops seperately... oh well


but yea Greece has Pokemon games, cards and the anime and whatnot

There are NO Greek names for pokemon.We use the English names.Bulbasaur is called Bullbasaur,Xatu is called Xatu etc
There is anime BUT for some reason(which I don't know)they stopped showing the new anime and they're showing the Johto episodes again.
There are pkm games,pkm TCG and pkm collectible figures(the figures are not many)

So, tell me where to get Greek cover scans of Pokemon Movies? I've got Jirachi Wish Maker Greek Cover in veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy small size. And I need larger. But Greeks has own alphabet. Are these names translated into Greek alphabet?

Why wouldn't it be? Russian is in Cyrillic, Japanese is in kanji/kana - Greek is in Greek.

And of course, your spelling is a bit confusing. Don't forget that "Greeklish" is used only in Greece. So the right spelling of the translation would be "Jirachi, o efhopios". Also, the Greek letters are viewable only in certain charsets chosen.

(It is a bit stupid, to use English language, to talk to another Greek...).
