Consider both of them at their best, with all of the tools and abilities they normally have, in a fight. Who would win?

I'm going to give the edge to Green Arrow because he's probably fast enough to hit Shadowcat with an arrow before she goes intangible.

Kitty Pryde definitely has a very useful power in many circumstances, but my father managed to get me into the Green Arrow - that man has a lot of skill. I wouldn't doubt that he would eventually manage to peg Shadowcat, especially since her phasing through walls isn't really an offensively-based power, and she doesn't really have an advantage over O.Q. at hand-to-hand. Oliver Queen would probably win. As for who I like better, Green Arrow was a great standalone character, while Kitty's characterization works best as part of a team (hence, X-men). They both have their advantages, but I'm leaning toward Oliver right now.

Also, cheers to our first three polls all being comic-related.

I prefer Shadowcat. It's mostly because I don't know Green Arrow all that well, and Kitty was always a favorite in the X-Men series that I'd watch, like Evolution and Wolverine. Also, she's just such a fun character with a fun power.

Phasing isn't really an offensive power, but creative use of it can certainly help. This fight may take a while since both are highly trained hand-to-hand combatants, but Kitty might be able to phase away, phase back in behind him, and knock him out.

I'd have to go with Green Arrow. Generally prefer him over Shadowcat (though Claremont's X-Men Forever version of Shadowcat was great), and I think he'd be clever enough to figure out a way to disable her.

I have to go with Shadowcat. While her power is regularly fairly passive, her creativity and resourcefulness really allow to to take more of an active, well-rounded role in the team.
