They say I'm a girl but for just how long?
Childish things are done, my childhood is gone.
Bills and rent and adult duty beckons,
Why is today society making me feel threatened?
Teens are still kids, but it quickly passes.
Thirteen year olds feel pressure to show off their tits and asses.
It's all crazy to me and a little sad.
I just wish I could still play house and not worry about the bad.
Growing up happens, but let's take our time.
Let's remember to love life and everything will be fine.

I like it. You've done a good job portraying a 'teenage-life' crisis, and as a fellow teen I can definitely see where you are coming from.

I hope to see more of your work!

Loved the poem, as I can definitely relate, girl! Kids and teens these days are so bombarded by the media to look and act a certain way, it's sad. Nice emotion conveyed!

Ain't that the truth? Just the society we live in, little girls are supposed to be all worried about how they look and what they wear.

All I know, is the sun rose today.
Morning dew frosts my window, clouding my mind.
Warmth and softness traded for the pangs of sadness.
The search is daily, the emptiness is eternal.
Am I destined to travel this journey with only air by my side?
When will he come? When will he appear?
He is not a crutch, not air or water.
He is a sweet summer breeze, frosting or gravy.
I need him not to live my life.
I need him to share it with.

I like these poems! The second one really hit me, displaying the seemingly endless quest for love, true love, that always seems just out of reach from your grasp, always taunting, never ceasing. The longing for partnership and side-by-side living is quite apparent. I love it, absolutely love it.
