Oh god yes this is a good thing. As we know coro coro is the famed revealer of games for pokemon. But even better. now they are saying the rumored gs remake is possible for happening. this is from slowking prinsley(or something like that from sppf
From CoroCoro, it is speculated a GS remake will occcur with Chikorita, Totodile, Cyndaquil, Notched-Ear Pichu as well as Heatran appearing in the movie.
Now that there sentence makes me happy. I mean that would mean you would have the normal starters plus the pichu for a starter or the pichu would go to platinum and then to the gs remake for that games gender difference upgrade. And now the scan.

While we do have a petition thread and the oh so norm wish thread for the gs remake to happen we know have the official hope that coro coro wasnt lying or else they will have bad things happen to them thread. ENJOY!

Seems fairly obvious the remakes are happening now. Those aren't Ash's Johto starters though, hence there being a Chikorita instead of a Bayleef.

Ah well, can't say I'm not surprised that it actually happened.

Regarless of anime troubles with fitting it all in, a very strong remake sign is a very strong remake sign.

I am now looking forward to news..
If there are going to be remakes, they will be announced soon I guess, because those starters are promoting..

Well actually all 3 are strangely enough in the movie along with the pichu so yeah this is most likely happening. I am off to see if i can pinch myself as i feel like i am dreaming,

Please don't let this be DSi exclusive.

Mostly because.. I can't afford a DSi.

I think the DSi will play regular DS games, so don't worry. If not, I'll probably end buying one if that's what this is. My Lite's L button doesn't work, after all.

I think this is pretty conclusive news, and I'm really glad to hear it! I can't wait.

That's not my worry.

My worry is Game Freak will make this DSiWare exclusive.

I think not.

The gba pokemon port function remember?
I guess they will try to keep that in..
Which means it will be geared to the ds lite and the ds.

Pokémon's marketing strategies have always been fairly straight-forward, so when you've got 4 old as dirt characters appearing in a film seemingly out of the blue, you know something is more than likely going to go down in the games department.
With zero mention of a new generation or games, and a noticeable lack of any new pokémon bar Arceus in the most recent movie outing, remaking an old game with snazzy new graphics and a handful of cheesy features seems like the GameFreak thing to do. By now, there are a multitude of new fans that have probably never touched the GS games in their lives, and plenty of older folks who'd probably buy it for nostalgia's sake. Oh, they is gonna make some monies offa this.

Personally, I'm not sure what to make of this. While I did like Johto as a region, there were just too many problems with it's debut game, mostly stemming from the fact that it relied too much on riding the coat-tails of it's predecessor.
But then again, being a remake, there's a good chance they'll be able to fix past mistakes. More accessible Johto pokémon and far less Kanto guys would be super. Johto being a little deeper and more of a stand-alone region would be great too. And hey. If they insist on bringing Kanto back again, there's tons of room for improvement there. Ongoing Rocket story perhaps? Areas restored to their former glory instead of becoming crappy wall mazes or blocked off completely.
This seems like a good chance to go back and tweak it to make the experience more enjoyable.

Nah dont worry they arent that stupid. Now all i need is a way to convince my best friend to hand over my ds back after i traded her it for a PS2 when her 22 year old brother has a clear obsession with mario 64 DS. I mean for this and platinum. There is the good chance of making this perfect and have a game full of glory. And money wise if platinum can sell well over a million in a week imagine how many copies of this would be sold in a week. Yep they are surely making a right move and making sure the economy doesnt catch up with them. And of course something is going to go down. I mean as you said its pokemon.

Oh well, I was starting to not want a remake. Because if they made a remake of GSC
1. I doubt they could capture the original glory of Johto
2. We'd get ugly gray Sugimori art.

I doubt they cant capture it as with spiffy graphics new play style(touch screen poke gear makes me drool at the sound of it0 and a full kanto would surely be something to jump for joy about.

Johto starters appear, GS REMAKE CONFIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRMED

9_9 Words cannot explain how tired I am seeing everyone point out so-called 'hints' for GS remakes. I mean, I'm not against them or anything because I'd like them myself.. but seriously, guys.

Everyone knows that a true remake is confirmed by Xatu, because Xatu owns the sock------ *WHAM*

*awaits further GS-remake-crazy people going to murder her*

If it's not said in clear words that there is a Gold/Silver remake, it's not confirmed. "Hints" don't count as a "confirm".

Even though the implication is clear in itself, CoroCoro doesn't actually address any speculation:

Well that was my take on what the pictures provided. I don't think it officially states it as fact.

Give it time. When Origin Forme was unveiled exactly one year ago, no official source stated that it was going to debut in Diamond and Pearl's third game. Two months later, CoroCoro stated that in the following month (May 2008) it would reveal a new game rumored to follow the third game pattern. And that is how Platinum was announced just in time for promoting it alongside the 11th movie.

Maybe but the fact that the Gen II starters are in the movie does give it a very big hint that Gold/Silver remakes are on the way.

The only bad thing about this is that my hopes of the debut of the Gen V Pokémon for Movie 12 seems unlikely now :-(

So in other words jump for joy but only slightly until may and if nothings comes along we were misunderstood? Good i can do that.

I agree that we shouldn't jump to conclusions because it's not 100% confirmed, but I will also agree that this is a VERY strong hint towards Johto remakes.

Believe me, I would be happier than anyone if we do get GS remakes.

It won't be officially released until Platinum has been out for at least a while and it doesn't even have a confirmed Europe release date yet.

It doesn't make financial sense for Game Freak to officially announce remakes just yet, they still want to hype up Platinum - it's not even out in America yet!

We've got three months minimum to wait before any official confirmation!

Although, I'm absolutely certain we will get them. =P

I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade here, but where exactly does it point out that a remake is confirmed, other than the Johto starters appearing?

EDIT: Misread something ffffff

The Japanese version of Emerald was released in the same month (September 2004) as the American versions of FireRed and LeafGreen. Emerald itself was announced in Japan merely six months after FireRed and LeafGreen had seen release. And yet, those three games would go on to sell incredibly well all around the world.

If the Gold and Silver remakes are announced in May, which they most likely will, it may still be as long as November until they are actually released in Japan (although September comes to mind based on previous years). They probably won't be announced elsewhere before then.
