Cinnabar:
No Pokémon center - the idea behind a Pokémon center is the presence of a permanent settlement - a city, town, anything - I see no point of having a Pokémon Center on a pretty much deserted island. I want a proper volcano to explore - think Stark Mountain, with Platinum graphics to make it look like a volcano. You should be able to find Blaine on Cinnabar island (possibly training), before you fight him at the Seafoam islands. Throwing Heatran in as a bonus would work, too. Hoenn Pokémon: Numel, Torkoal, Meditite.

Seafoam islands:
There's no reason for the Seafoam islands to disappear - it doesn't need to have a full scale puzzle - would be awesome if they left it untouched since Red solved it three years ago. Why a return? Hoenn Pokémon! Snorunt, Spheal - all ideal candidates, none of which can be put into the Safari Zone. Articuno? Think Nevermeltice.

Red and Blue:
Considering the fact that Red is most probably Red from Yellow, it would be awesome if Blue (rebattled) you with his (bred?) Eevee-evo(s), replacing one out of his three Fire-Grass-Water-s, this would also be a great opportunity to show off the new breeding differences. Red's elemental trio could now have the elemental Hyper Beams. Red leaving behind his Rainbow Pass - that is something I'd want, that - and him disappearing forever when you try to return it to him (leaving behind the possibility of a future return in another Generation). Would allow his future reappearance in other regions.

Power Plant:
Obviously not a dungeon anymore - itemfinder will lead you to a Sharp Beak. More to do while inside as compensation - battles with Workers/Engineers, one of them having Megnezone and thus referencing Sinnoh. Pachirisu available for capture in tall grass outside the Power Plant. An engineer that don't battle references the Valley Windworks.

Celadon Game Corner:
The basement entrance is no longer there, but using the itemfinder will give you a Card Key that will be of use at the Sevii Islands.

Rocket Warehouse (Chrono Island):
The warehouse is now abandoned, and home to wild Pokémon - think on the lines of Gulpin, Muk, Seviper, etc. As a bonus, they could have Journal entries revealing the Rocket story so far. Policemen guarding the entrance might battle you at night.

Pewter Museum of Science:
The Museum has now been renovated - with guest exhibits from Slateport and Oreburgh on a bi-weekly basis. A reference to the Pheonix Mars Mission would be awesome, I would readily sacrifice time-based continuity for a reference as awesome as that.

Fuchsia Gym:
With the invisible wall puzzle being a trick up Koga's sleeve, it would be awesome if Janine's Fuchsia Gym was renovated and given a new maze.

Safari Zone:
Ah.. finally - the inevitable addition. The Warden is not on vacation. List of new Pokémon:
  • Natu
  • Girafarig
  • Shuckle
  • Zigzagoon
  • Lotad
  • Surskit
  • Spoink
  • Bibarel
  • Kricketot
  • Shinx
  • Sellos
The Surf contest is now replaced by a contest giving away a new Pokégear application.

Lavender Town:
The Kanto Radio tower at Lavender Town is now further accessible. At night, wild Pokémon are available for capture in the wild grass around Routes 10 and 8 - Ghastly, Shuppet, Duskull and Sableye (Rare).

Victory Road:
Full of trainers - a few of the trainers from RGB revisit, training new Pokémon. After acquiring the national dex, Bagon and Claydol are available in the wild. Charcoal can be found using the itemfinder, negating the requirement for Mt. Ember.

Viridian Forest:
Back in it's full glory - Pichu are now available for capture, and more easily found than Pikachu. Burmy, Mothim, Seedot and Shroomish now available for capture in the wild.

Route 1-23:
All routes back in full glory - they needn't have all trainers from RGB - but they should be full-length. GSC-class trainers return.

Whew, that took forever to write - I think that's the longest post I ever wrote.

To put it simply...

GSC Kanto = Awesome.

... Hopefully...

I like the precident you have set, PikachuTrAiNeR. I see you have some solid ideas; I cannot find fault with any of your suggestions, although there are alternative possibilites for some.

Mt. Moon:
Much of the cavern should have been mantained in generation II, so the remake should cater for this. A small quest in regard to clefairy, possibly? Perhaps another fossil should also be obtainable.

Cerulean Cave
This was, in my opinion, one of the greatest dungeon enviroments created in the pokemon franchise; It has surely been superceeded, yet the pokemon types that appeared there, and the two floors dedicated totally to a true maze were a very welcome idea. I say Cerulean cave should be back with gusto - perhaps you should need to find an entrance in order to get the beserk gene, and at least some mewtwo... references.

Cinnabar
The volcano has erupted, and all that remains is a Pokemon center. I like this idea - I believe that the Island should still be explored in a different way, perhaps a cavern or something of the like (obviously full of slugma, perhaps a mix of fire, ground and rock types); and a reason to explore it, as you say. It would do justice to that lone Pokemon center, and perhaps provide more of a premise for meeting Blue. (If you remember, you must meet him in cinnabar before the leader battle).

I have a feeling it's going to be cut :/

Time to throw my hat into the ring.

Cinnabar: I agree with the OP, but would still retain Blue's presence there. For pokemon(aside from Heatran, would I would have it be blocked off in its own little magma chamber until after you've filled out the Johto Dex and talked to Blaine afterwards), I'd have: Vulpix(Silver only), Growlithe(Gold only), Grimer line, Koffing line, Slugma line, Magby line, Numel line(Emerald in GBA slot), Torkoal(Emerald in GBA slot).

Elite Four + Champion(s)/Indigo Plateau/Mt Silver: I'd switch the order in which the player would go to Indigo Plateau/Mt. Silver, which is actually far easier than it sounds. Lance and his quartet would be atop Mt. Silver(albeit with their pokemon rosters jacked up around ten levels in comparison to the GBC versions and some minor retooling for Will/Karen/Lance), and the anime's Orange Crew waiting for you at Indigo Plateau(and being the reason why Lance et al. have moved to Mt. Silver).

Fuschia: Major improvement for Janine's team, and the warden would stay on vacation until after you've beaten the Orange Crew, at which point he comes back and reopens the Safari Zone. I like the OP's Surfing Contest idea.

Power Plant: Upon their first arrival, the player would find Red calming down an aggravated Zapdos, which would then take off(for the Whirl Islands). He then explains that a pair of Team Rocket Grunts had been seen in the area, and theorizes that they might have been the ones who antogonized the thunderbird. At this point, the issue of the stolen Power Plant equipment comes up... After recovering the stolen part, the man gives you the TM for Charge Beam in exchange for the component, and power is restored to Kanto.

Seafoam: Upon encountering Blaine at Cinnabar, he'd come back here to quell an angry Articuno(which I'd have take off for the Whirl Islands), then begins setting up his new Gym here...with you as the first challenger and the Volcano Badge + TM50(Overheat) up for grabs. After you beat the aforementioned Orange Crew, construction really gets under way, with a basic Pokemart, Pokemon center, and the first two gym rebattles(plus entrances to the Wi-fi Underground if that should be included). Complete the Sinnoh Dex(and get the equivalent of the Gen III/IV National Dex), and the underground areas would become a full-blown city, with the Pokemart selling the entire evolution stone series and Blaine packing Camerupt and Magmortar for the last two rebattles.

More to come, when I can find the time...

I have a feeling it's going to be cut :/

If it were, there'd be no mention of Shaymin's stone appearing there.

I like a lot of these ideas. Maybe they could have a smaller cerulean cave that obviously looks caved in. And then you find the hill where Mewtwo was and you see the scars of a three-year old battle. I don't know where Mewtwo would go after Cerulean Cave, but I do hope we can get him this time around. Be a shame if we had to hack to get him.

I have a feeling it's going to be cut :/
That'd be a stupid decision on Game Freak's part. To remove half of the game is just a bad, bad idea. I hope Kanto is kept intact and improved upon.

By the way, I like all of your ideas PikachuTrAiNeR!

until after you've beaten the Orange Crew

Out of all the predictions that have been made, I feel more confident about this than anything else: the Orange Islands will not be in this game. Aside from Yellow, the games have never followed the anime at all, and I really doubt they'll do so now. Could I be wrong? Yes, but it's veryvery unlikely, especially with the other features it looks like they'll be implementing.

It's a remake from ten years ago. There is no reason whatsoever for them to simply remove a large chunk of the game.

Power Plant: Upon their first arrival, the player would find Red calming down an aggravated Zapdos, which would then take off(for the Whirl Islands).

Seafoam: Upon encountering Blaine at Cinnabar, he'd come back here to quell an angry Articuno(which I'd have take off for the Whirl Islands)..

The reason I put the Sharp Beak and Nevermeltice there is to show that they have either been caught by Red 3 years ago, or have gone to Sinnoh (Roaming in Platinum).

... then begins setting up his new Gym here...with you as the first challenger and the Volcano Badge + TM50(Overheat) up for grabs. After you beat the aforementioned Orange Crew, construction really gets under way, with a basic Pokemart, Pokemon center, and the first two gym rebattles(plus entrances to the Wi-fi Underground if that should be included). I'm not even going to bother to explain why this won't happen, since everyone should already know.

Well here is my wishlist for Neo Kanto (I will loooove this thread!!):

-First of all, the wild Pokémon levels must be rearranged and fixed in all the region. Why? Because you need levelup, so all Kanto Pokémon must be at level 40-50. It's annoying to arrive in Vermilion City with a level 50-60 party, head to Saffron or Levender and fight wild Pokémon at levels 8-12. Even more annoying is that much later, you head to Pallet Town and in the way you encounter anything but Lv. 2 Pidgeys and Sentrets. Level 2, when you're up to fight Blue, the strongest Gym Leader?!! WFT!? So they must change the levels according to the progress in the game (I think, the levels are just a thing of gameplay, changing them won't make a plothole or alter continuity).

-Kanto Gym Leaders: if they want to be challenging, and given the Elite Four will get a boost of at least 5-10 levels, Kanto Leaders must be between their 50's-60's, except Janine (yes, she must retain her original name!), who, as is unexperienced, can be at her late 40's-early 50's.

-Viridian Forest: from the facts that in GSC Route 2 had the same shape as the old forest, and that no body else told you what happened to it (unlike other cut locations in Kanto), I assume the programmers intended the little maze to actually be the original forest. Thus, it should return just as it was in FR/LG, only with new Pokémon (granted that by then you'll already have received the National Dex), like Volbeat and Illumise (maybe each one a version exclusive), Nincada, Electrike/Manectrik and maybe some Slakoths and Viggoroths.

-Mt. Moon: it should be a full dungeon again, but in order to keep fresh and have the Cleffairy's moon stone shrine, it should be totally redesigned, so that you actually have to beat the challenge if you want to get your moon stone.

-Rock Tunnel: always hated it, so I want them to be kept as little as it was in GS. But that's not an objective opinion, so I won't say more about this place.

-Lavender Town and Tower: Mr. Fuji is known for his friendship towards Pokémon and some scientific knowledge on them, so he can take a role similar to that of Dr. Footstep or something like that. The Tower must be kept as it is, since is a radio tower now. But they must grant you access so although it's not a dungeon anymore, you get something special there (ala Celadon Mansion).

-Power Plant: I oppose OP's point of view: this MUST BE again a new dungeon. Actually, it's the main point of the Kanto quest in my vision: Remember that when you first arrive in Kanto, the Magnet Train doesn't work because one Rocket grunt stole a piece of the main generator. So the point is: you want a Kanto sidequest that does have something to do with the plot so to not make it optional? You want a better conclusion for the Rocket storyline? Well then, just as the Rockets tried a last scheme at the Sevii Islands in FR/LG, they do the same in HGSS: After their Johto defeat, the Rockets hide in Kanto and as a last try they steal the Power Plant's main generator and seize the bulding (which now is a big building) ala Silph Co. And.... since this incident takes place in Kanto, this is when Giovanni makes his return and helps you fighting his former subordinates (you and him against male and female Executives). At the end, before running away and say good bye forever, the Executive/Admin confess they hid the generator piece in Misty's Gym as it was originally. Ta-dah!!! Don't say it wouldn't work!!

-Safari Zone: I said it before: I don't want contradictions with the original plot, so the warden is still on vacation and the park closed because there is no one to manage it. But instead of the warden dying and never getting back, this time he finally does: after beating Janine, she will refuse to give you her badge and instead will send you to a "get me this rare treasure" quest (similar to Clair's in Blackthorn) in a faraway place (be it Sevii or a brand new area). And when you get there... surprise!! That's the same place the warden went off (Sevii fits: as they're quiet islands, thery're perfect for tourism, but still it could a whole new area exclusive to HGSS)!! So you talk to him and he understands he's been away too long and returns to Kanto. Then you complete the quest and that's it! When you get back to Fuschia, a new expanded (remodelations were done during the warden's trip) Safari Zone (with Hoenn Pokémon and maybe a Pal Park) awaits for you!

-Cinnabar and Seafom: Someone in another thread said the supposed volcano that erupted must be actually shown and even featured as a new dungeon; wild Slugma, Numel and Torkoal could be found there. I suggest that Blaine joins you as a tag partner here and after solving some puzzle at the end of the dungeon, he gives you the right to battle him. Blaine was not the only inhabitant of Cinnabar, so all that was featured there must be moved to the Seafoam Islands (the lab and the Mansion, which can be again active, may be turned into some resort hotel or something).

-Cerulean Cave: For continuity sake, and since we already got Silver Cave as the "here live horribly strong Pokémon" dungeon, it must be kept destroyed, with the Berserk Gene found near the old entrance as it was in the original GSC.

-Red and Green: Green, being the strongest Kanto Leader and former League Champion, must have a team around levels 60-65 (5 levels above the second strongest); then, in order to be given access to Red, you must refight the Elite Four (just as you had to refight them in FRLG before being allowed into Cerulean Cave) who now will be in their late 60's-early 70's. And then Red, with his late-70's early 80's team, which by now, even with a 5-level boost, won't be farfetched as it was in the original games. And of course, this time Route 28 and the Silver Cave will be really difficult (in the originals, they were quite lame). Oh, and of course, since three years have passed, both Green and Red must have aged and look different (and yes, that means new artwork for them).

That's it, my vision of GS Kanto. I know none of this will get in the reamek, but they are good ideas, aren' they (except they are so much that they would outshine Johto again... except Johto had A LOT of additions too, but I doubt it D= )

It won't work. :p
They won't change the storyline in any way from back in GSC. Besides, even with that Rocket subplot, it wouldn't be a "dungeon" - think along the lines of Valley Windworks/Weather Institute.

Great Ideas!

Maybe when you get the Berserk Gene, it unlocks a Mewtwo event, bring it to wherever Its hiding. Was it ever explained where mewtwo fled to anyway?

It's either going to have alot more content to it, or it'll be scrapped entirely for a bigger Jotho.

That's not changing the storyline, it's expanding it, since that event was already in the original, just that this time, instead of a pathetic random grunt, all the team is involved with the incident.

It was supposed to be a reference to the fact that Red caught it 3 years ago.

Then Red is an idiot for not having it in his party. Actually, the fact that all the legendary pokemon he supposedly caught are absent makes it look like he actually never caught them.

It wouldn't be expanding the story if the Power Plant remained a dungeon. On the other hand, if the new retrofitted Power Plant is brought under a control, and you have to complete a mission much like Valley Windworks, then it's a plausible idea.

You added a dungeon in the Cinnabar inserting cave as far as I remember, so.... I don't understand you now?

As an active power plant, it must be a big building (An electric plant works in a much more complicated way than a windwork), thus, a dungeon, ala Silph Co. Still, it not a dungeon, the Rocket scheme I said could be there instead of just one grunt.
