So I think this is one of the best parts of Gen V. Before I had completed the National Pokedex, I had seen and traded a number of non-Unova Pokemon just through this very option.

So I go on there earlier in between trades from the Offering thread and I see a guy who is offering a Porygon2 with Dubious Disc, a Houndour ready to evolve with Lucky Egg and a Scyther holding a Metal Coat. The Porygon is Modest and the Scyther has Technician and is Adamant! So even though I have loads of Scyther and a Scizor, I can't resist and take the big green bug. I trade it and it evolves. Only then do I realise it's shiny!! And I take it to the Battle Subway guy and it's FLAWLESS!

I've never had a Flawless Pokemon before. I've had Shinies, I've had great Pokes with good or great IV's, with superior potential but this just takes the biscuit. I cannot believe my luck.

So what's your best find with this GTS option?

Just letting you know, there is already a thread for general discussion of the GTS Negotiations feature C:

Though it has been inactive since November… and this thread seems to be about a slightly more narrow topic than that one -shrugs-

Some dude gave me a Dream World Vaporeon for some random Pokémon you can get anywhere in Unova (it's so forgettable that I don't even remember), so you can be lucky sometimes. But a lot of the time it's just one person showing a Pokémon and the other showing that they already have it, over and over.

Before posting the thread, the user did send me a visitor message stating that they couldn't see a thread about this topic in the first 3 pages of the discussion. Considering the previous thread has been inactive since November, this one is fine.

It's been awesome! Ive even gotten a Tornadus for a spare Zekrom I found on the regular GTS.

Even though most people only give me frowny faces and show me their shiny legendaries, there a quite a few great, reasonable traders!

I've been quite lucky. Maybe less than 1 in 3 will quite happily trade with me. Most of them have been exchanging fodder but that Scizor is by far the best. It's great for me as I'm not a competitive battler and just play for the hell of it. I think the system deserves a lot of credit and I hope it evolves into something better.

I used to use it all the time. It was a crap shoot, really. Sometimes I'd get awesome people who wouldn't suddenly disconnect and were willing to trade almost anything. But more often than not, I'd get assholes who just wanted to cycle through all their hacked lv. 100 shiny Pokemon, others who would just disconnect without warning, and finally, super-picky people who didn't want anything I had (and had a lot to offer).

Haven't played BW in a while but Negotiations were my go to for trading for older monsters I didn't "see". Had some awesome trades, made some players happy and eventually got me a Torchic.

Love Negotiations.

I've met some annoying people on Negotiations, but also some cool people (like this guy who gave me a Togepi egg for a baby Turtwig and a Dialga for a baby Charmander). I've also seen some funny trainer cards.

i HATE it when they start rubbing their shinies/rares all over my DS screen. Whenever that happens, I keep spamming Lillipup or Pidove until l they realize that I hate them. At that point, they start spamming a Lillipup or Pidove themselves.

Now that I transferred all the Unown from my HeartGold... this should be fun... >:D

I generally do not like anything that has to do with the GTS. It's been corrupted. Yes there are fair trades here and there. I really do not like the Negotiations. People flash their shines and powerful pokemon. I usually do not like powerful pokemon and shines, so I do not have rare one. Whenever I show a weak pokemon the other person spams the sad face button.

Things like the Gen V legendaries under 9 should be impossible to select.

Welcome to the world of Smogon, @Midnight Blue.

Anyways, it is good, even though the Legendaries level 9 and under are annoying.

lol, just because a person likes powerful pokemon, doesn't make him a smogonite. nor are smogonites power-hungry freaks the way you make it sound. stop stereo-typing.

topic: negotiations imo have always been a waste of time for me. its nothing but a way for people to display their mons and tell me:"here is a hint:Color Change". No, I am not giving "Color-Change"'d mons.

I've managed to get a shiny pawniard for a charmander. And I've managed to get starters and a spiritomb for regular pokemon I could catch or mons from the Dream World. There was this one d-bag who was showing off his shinies, so I spammed the frownie face and DC'd.

I need to transfer over my pokemon from SoulSilver, since I have quite a few pokemon there that I think I would be able to trade for better mons.
