Hey I've been having problems on the GTS lately.

Just today I found a level 80 Lucario, they wanted an Entei for it. So I picked Entei and selected, then it said Checking GTS like usual.

Two seconds later it says "That Pokémon can't be offered for trade." WTF? It never said this before!

I found a level 100 Absol, they wanted Entei for it. Tried it again, same thing happens. However it let me trade my Mew for something.

Then I found a level whatwas it, 80, Manectric, for a Mewtwo. I decided to go for it since my Mewtwo was the same level. I GET THAT MESSAGE AGAIN!

What may I ask is the freaking problem? It lets me deposit Entei/Mewtwo, but won't let me trade them when I seek!

Anyone know why, or at least if this happened to anyone else?
 
lol no they're mine, I go on Emerald and clone so I can get shinies and stuff. Besides occasionally this kinda thing makes the person receiving the Pokémon happy. I like making people happy ^^
 
Oh, okay. So you're just a victim of the "can't trade legendary Pokemon" thing. Hopefully, it's just a technical difficulty.

I've been collecting many of my favorite Pokemon on the GTS lately.

I'm doing it by cloning my legendaries in Emerald, "searching" for the Pokemon I want, and trading for whatever it is that I want.


That would suck if, for some reason, we're now unable to trade "cloned" Pokemon. They're not anything like hacked Pokemon (not in my opinion, anyway), so that would be awful if cloned ones aren't allowed.

EDIT: Yeah, I hope that's just the "can't trade legendary Pokemon" thing, and that's all. ^^o
 
It would be great if Nintendo has banned cloned Pokemon. I really don't see why people want to ruin the Wi-Fi feature so much using hacked and cloned Pokemon.
 
Because its the only way they can have fun with GTS xD.

How could they detect a cloned Pokémon, if they're supposed to be exact copies of the original, 100% legit Pokemon? Furthermore, if you use the Emerald cheat, which one would count as "cloned" and wich one would remain as "non-cloned"?
 
That's what I've been asking everyone and they have no answer.

Geoffrey2004, look at it this way, atleast when they clone Enteis, they are more willing to give them out, thus the ammount of Spam on the GTS is reduced. Atleast that's what I tell myself.
 
I've had that problem! I can offer my Mew and Deoxys, but I can't trade them. I missed a shiney Milotic because I couldn't trade my Deoxys.

And it's not hacked/cloned legends or I wouldn't have been able to trade away that one Jirachi. Someone wanted a lv 9 or under Jirachi for a level 100, so I did it and the 100 one was hacked, so I traded it away ASAP to someone who wanted it.
 
This problem is indeed interesting. Not all legendaries are banned from trading, as I received a what-appears-to-be legit Jirachi about half an hour after posting my Bulbanews editorial today. However, according to people in this post, some Pokémon attempted to be traded were legit. Clones can't be detected.

In any case, if it's not a glitch, then why on Earth would Nintendo allow people to ask for legendaries but not receive them?
 
To the original poster: Please don't change your font color to red. Or anything, really, unless it is necessary/appropriate. Reading weird colored text is bad on the eyes.
 
I have been having the same problem, I don't know why in the world its happening. Most of the time, I'll see a trade I want to do, I go get the pokemon the person wants and it says it can't be traded. None of my pokemon are hacked or cloned... All I can say is wtf.
 
Maybe it's because people are hacking the event legendaries in order to get a trade for a legit rare pokemon before anyone else.
 
It's a problem with the server according to gamefaqs. It's not just the GTS. battle revolution is also blocking legendaries but randomly. It's strange over there since some can put Palkia on to battle revolution online but others can't put Palkia on. It's effecting every Legendary and it's really random. Some people can't put any Pokemon on while other who have the exact same pokemon can. Like rayquaza and the one guy who manged to put Mew on while no one get get there mew on ect.

Apparently Nintendo not sure what's going on either. All I know is the same effect is effecting battle revolution and GTS when it comes to legendaries. In other words I bet both are on the same server. It's similar for as Argy said he recieved a Jirachi.

It's very very random. Not sure how long this will last though.

I'm very sure it's a glitch. It's just too random. Also coincidentally the GTS problem actually started around the time the battlerevolution problem started.

EDIT: Just to add Nintendo is not exactly giving straight answer unfortunately except one apparently said it was a glitch and another said they didn't know what was going on to a few gamefaqs users when it came to battle revolution. Not sure abouttheir excuse for the GTS but I bet it'll be similar. Kind of confusing though. I'm just surprised how the GTS on the DS and battle revolution are both having problems with legendaries at the same time.

I wouldn't give up my Entei for a level 80 Lucario otherwise. It's helpful because some Pokémon I cannot get for one reason or another, especially something exclusive to Ruby or Sapphire, as I lost my copy of those games and no longer can obtain anything from them.

So why not put an Entei in for it?
 
Yeah. Last night this person had a shiny female trapinch up for trade on GTS. I was like "Wow. This sounds great!" So, I go trade my raikou I got in Colosseum. The thing is that it wouldn't go through. This thing is royally messed up. Raikou was legit. Trapinch was at level 13. So...why couldn't the trade go through?

Simply because it's cheating. It's because of cloning that legendary Pokemon lose value and it ruins them.
 
Okay, as someone who AR'd all of the event ubers, than either relesed them or gave them away (letting them know it was hacked, and threatening them to never use it on the GTS or wi-fi, I have only this to say:

The GTS has different rules, and cloning isn't exactly a good idea. But if you ask me, the people who go "lolz her iz a bidoof nao i wunt dialga" need to be dealt with much more urgently.

P.S. Don't kill me, I only did it for the Pokedex entries.
