With the introduction of one of the most intriguing features in Generation IV, the Global Trade Station provided a different way to complete the Pokédex. But there were flaws like hacks or impossible demands. Do you think Gen V will continue with the GTS adding improvements or will it be forgotten and left behind?

What would you like to see improved? Do you want it to stay? Or should Nintendo leave it as is? Thoughts?

I think you should have a wishlist (e.g. Snorlax Lv. 20+, Pikachu Lv. 40+), but people should be able to offer you anything, and you have to accept their trade. Although that could take too much time...

It'll stay, for obvious reasons, but I doubt the main issues will be solved. There will always be people who figure out how to cheat the system.

The GTS will be present in the fifth generation for sure, but I expect to see changes which enforce additional and more efficient hack checks, and GTS cloning or evolving a trade Pokémon by offering it while doing another trade will both be patched.

I would also want to see more filters or modes such as "show oldest offers" or "search only for shinies". And the discrimination of certain countries not having a GTS location point bugs me, even if my own has not one but five.

I'd also like to be able to change your location. People move, mine's way off now.

I'm pretty sure the GTS is going to stay, I'm just not sure if it is going to be called the GTS, it might be if you can trade with gen.4 games, or the other way around. It makes more sense if you have a different name for the GTS in gen.4&5, but if you can't trade through those 2 regions, it should have a different name.

I want the new gts to allow you to offer multiple pokémon at once.

I'm 99% sure they're going to keep it, I mean, why remove it? Are there any downsides? Aside from hacks, the GTS is damn useful sometimes.

I would like to be able to put up one Pokémon, and have a list of Pokémon I would trade for it. Like, say, I put up a Chikorita, and would trade it for a Totadile, or a Charmander, or Bulbasaur.

Also yeah, ability to change location. My brother borrowed my Pearl and set our location to China... for some reason.

Oh Also I think that after you've obtained the national dex you shouldn't have to wait untill you see a pokémon to ask it on the gts. It was just plain stupid as usually seeing and obtaining would go hand in hand.

^^ that was so frustrating i must agree.

this is me: looking for a nice baby charmander; lets see Abc order ok. Huh?!? wheres the Char line.

Gts: Sorry you have not seen a charmander so you may not have one.

Me: Thats stupid

GTS: Connection Failed Signing Out

Me: Damnit!!!!!!

Especially since you can actually see the Pokemon's name when looking for trades.

But I think they did this to prevent the knowledge of Arceus for example. If it was the way you want it, Arceus would've been revealed off the bat, and I'm sure people would wonder what Pokemon that is since *at the time* some have never heard it before. Or maybe instead of a list they could have a keyboard-like aspect where you can "type" the name of said Pokemon

And there really is no way to counter that, unless those specific event Pokemon don't show up in the GTS list until you have seen it.

But yeah I'd like to be able to get Totodile (for example) without having to see it.

Edit: Another reason they may have it the way they do is the custom words you have access to (the words you can use on wifi, or the words you use while a reporter asks you a question). A certain Pokemon doesn't show up until you've seen it.

I'm 95% sure that Generation V will have GTS.

But I would like them to:

- Put better security so people can't deposit/trade hacked Pokemon
- You can serch for a Pokemon even though you haven't seen it
- Deposit/offer more than one Pokemon, it would be nice to offer e Pokemon at a time

If they did these things to improve GTS, then I'll be a happy Pokemon Trainer :3

tadaa. There is the solution. But I think it'd be even better when they just programme the gts servers to not show/ask for event pokémon untill they officially revealed it. That way hacked events won't get through either.

GF just needs to learn that you cannot hide pokemon. It doesn't work.

This

not to mention SEEING the pokemon's stats/ivs/lvl/gender/ability/moves/shiny

We need a wish list

random egg exchange

multiple poke trade (you give one legend for giving 6 starters, etc)

How about inputting pokemon names if you know they exist. If you want a dialga and know it exists then you can search it's name rather than an unlockable-as-you-see list.

With the GTS, i say it's been a go since Diamond and Pearl came out. (with the exception of getting hacked pkmn that puts u at ur advantage or disadvantage). I don't see why Game Freak would take it out of Gen V games.

This exactly.

I hope they keep the GTS indeed! Just axe the "must see it to ask for it" rule. D: 'Cause then, what's the point of having a global trading station with random people?
