GTS Warning...

I saw one of those kinds of things too. Didn't put much thought into it, though. No clue what it was I saw.

Gah, hopefully that can be fixed soon. :x Reckon NoA or whoever knows about this problem?
 
I think I saw something like this a few days ago with a Celebi that had a picture of a Togetic instead of a Celebi. o_x;
 
OMG are u serious?!?! If word of this gets out its gonna be mass exploitation!!

Yeah, Kasumi found a Torterra nickamed Mew. Interesting glitch, could cause some problems. This is why we don't use the GTS guys.
 
Yes I have found it more of a nuisance than a help.

Also if anyones interested I did just see a shiny steelix level 34 on gts, they want a dialga any level for it.
 
This is ridiculous. Surely the species query is by species, not by nickname?
 
Sadly it doesn't seem like it is. We discussed this on the BulbaCast and we've witnessed now that if you nickname a Torterra "Mew", it will show up when looking in the Mew section.

I guess it works now with sending a Pokemon with a nickname as well. (Although I tried it and it didn't work.) I wonder what Nintendo's going to do with this.
 
I'm going to assume it's fixed because I tested it with a Magikarp nicknamed Dialga...and I couldn't trade it.

But seriously...the GTS was supposed to be a great thing for the games...why is it filled with so many flaws and exploitable errors?

I think it's fixed, the Torterra was no longer there. I actually thought if what happened above would happen and it did.
I find the GTS to be very good.Well I usually search,but I also deposit.I got lots of legit Japanese and US Celebi off the GTS =3
 
On the GTS, as soon as I get Wifi, I just plan on giving out Phiones for anything I want that way there's no risk on me.
 
This problem is not fixed.

My friend who is sitting right beside me was looking at Mew on the GTS. A Mew popped up with the name of Toreterra, so it looked like Torterra.

So...not fixed.
 
I've actually heard of this although i dont recall where....

Out of all the glitches DP had that Nintendo fixed, why couldnt they find this one and fix it?
 
How could anyone be fooled by it though? I mean, most people will notice the sprite isn't a Mew (or whatever pokemon.) I guess some people probably would be in too much of a hurry to notice.
 
This happened to me. I didn't understand it at the time. I was looking for a Cherubi. Instead I found a Bulbasaur. It confused me for quite a while. I never did the trade--I already have a Bulbasaur.
 
Hmm... Here's a question, then.

Say you have oh... Pikachu in your dex, before getting the National Dex. Someone names a Ditto "PIKACHU" (as it is in the games), then would it work? Would you be able to trade for a Ditto named Pikachu?
 
it's a good thing I dont have access to the GTS at the moment. I still need those event pokemon for my pokedex purpose and I'll return them to the owner if he/she wants them back.

I hope these things will be fixed.
