I'm going. Who else is?
If you're going to the Oklahoma one, look for me. I'll be wearing a red bandana and looking to trade something for a Lairon.

I don't think anyone within a hundred miles of me plays the TCG. It sucks. There's a hobby shop that sells cards and hosts games, but not of the Pokémon variety. If I want to play, I have to travel a few hours to NYC...only to get my ass beat by a 10-year-old kid. ;)

Almost EVERY shop around me has stopped selling the cards, and NOBODY plays near me anymore.

Sucks for me.

I know of two shops that sell them near me: a hobby shop (where I go for my model train stuff anyway), and my friendly neighborhood comic book store. I will NOT buy them at the comic store, because I'm friends with everyone there and they'll ridicule me to no end. ;) It sucks, though, because the hobby shop only has EX Emerald stuff, while the comic store has that plus EX Deoxys, EX Sandstorm, EX Team Rocket Returns, EX Dragon, and EX TM vs TA.

They shouldn't ridicule you if they are your friends.

If they do, bring a gun and they DEFINATELY won't laugh. LOL, j/k.

The Gathering Ground for me.Meganium45 aka Vince is the host.No one ever wins but his kids and Jake.

Then build a better deck and crush him with your power. (and we can rate it for you!)

Yes. I have suggestions. (I know, hell froze over)

Sceptile (R/S) as main hitter
Venusaur EX as cleanup
Ninjask (Deo) + Crystal Shard (Deo) for a dragon EX counter

Or perhaps a good metal-type deck? If your defenses are good enough, you can be as reckless with your attacks as you'd like.

I have stoped playing the TCG. I really love playing it. But me being 17(= H.S Senior), it is looked down upon for someone my age, in my community/ household. So i stopped. Besides i dont have any recent cards. I stopped Buying at E-Reader set.

I don't like how the prices hve shot up.

I used to be able to get them for like a dollar, and now they are over $3!
It sucks...

I was just looking at a website that had packs for as low as $2.49. But i am sure if you add in S & H it'll be at least $4 per pack. Neway, i think i am gonna be getting back into the TCG. my b-day is coming up meaning MONEY$$$. lol.

*clears throat & points to age* Hello? I'd still play the Pokemon league if they hosted it around here, but sadly they don't..... but I would play it every weekend at the South Charleston League in Toysrus if they had it, & I'm 17 too! Just about everyone who knows me, knows Pokemon is my 2nd fave show!

I'm going to be 17 soon, and I am already a league co-leader. You can easily start a league in your area if you can't attend one.

The problem of course is finding a store that will sponsor it.

I'd join or start a league if it were possible, but with my chronic lack of funds, I have to wonder if it's worth it when I won't be able to field a modified legal deck.

That's not really the hard part. Lots of stores/libaries/food places are willing to host leagues. You just have to ask around.

You could always get a theme deck, Archaic. Those are always a good start. As you get boosters, you can add on to the decks and make them better. I would suggest getting a Jesse or James theme deck from EX TRR, since they both come with great Stage 2 lines.

I religiously collected and played the game until 2000, where I kind of just abruptly stopped. By that time, the value of the cards started to go down, and I lost interest in driving far just to play the card game. I still remember how to play, but that's pretty much it. Ah well.

That is an identical story as to what happened to me.
