At the age of ten, most children go on journeys to become successful Trainers, Coordinators or Rangers. Then there are the few who aspire to become Gym Leaders. These would-be Gym Leaders go to a specialized school in Lilycove City, where they receive training tailored to their chosen type, and their first Pokemon. They then split time between classes at the Academy and training under a Gym Leader of their choice.

However, he doesn't tolerate lack of effort, and that's an easy way to end up in his doghouse. As long as you try, though, he's more than happy to help you along as needed.
Appearance: Joshua is rather well-built for his age. He stands at 6'2", and has jet black hair, dark brown eyes and a short beard. He dresses in casual clothing, with a hint of formality, believing that he needn't dress in such stuffy suits and whatnot. His clothing varies
