Gym Leaders, Elite Four, and Champion speculation

What other gyms could there be?

But if we're sticking with types give Electric a spot in the Elite 4 for a change! I want a type mixed Champion too, not a type specific. And make them more interesting than Diantha holy cow.

Diantha's team felt like it was promoting Gen6 mons. I feel that she might have had a better team if she was the Fairy master with three or more Fairy types on her team

Yeah. But N used loads of different Pokemon throughout the game since his team changed every time. It isn't using fossils at all that I don't, I just didn't feel like they fit with Diantha.

But this was a minor opinion of mine anyway, I don't feel strongly about it at all and was just making conversation.

Dark Gym, please. Other than that, I'd love to see some more unique choices for E4 this time around, like Electric or Flying. Some people can use Dragon types, but no Dragon-type specialists please.

And I desperately want them to flesh out the Elite Four this time around. They're just obstacles to the Champion, despite them being some of the most powerful trainers in the region. They need more build-up, more people going "oh holy shit I can't believe [E4 Member] is here!" Have them at least cameo before the League challenge, maybe to beat some nameless Team Whatever grunts in a 5-on-1 match or something cliche like that.

It isn't using fossils at all that I don't, I just didn't feel like they fit with Diantha.

For Gym leaders, I think that hotel will be a Water type gym based on the presence of several Water types on it's walls, and I really hope there is a Dark gym because it's 5 generations overdue. Also, please no Ice or Electric gyms this generation, we've had an Ice gym and an Electric gym almost every single generation, let's take a break for one generation with those two types, at least for Gym Leaders...

I predict that the Elite Four of this generation will be Grass, Electric, Ice and Fairy and can be faced in any order like in Gen 5 and 6. The Champion will be male and have a multiple-type team with the final Pokemon being an older generation Pokemon with a Mega Evolution that will be introduced this generation, since that seems to be the new standard for Champion teams now.

Well, in Flint's case it was because Diamond and Pearl literally didn't have enough Fire-types to fill out his team. I'd prefer that sort of situation not happen again.

i remember a lot of people bemoaning that certain type-specialist trainers were not in fact type specialists (see: Volkner and Flint, for example).
