Gym Leaders

Okay, so my fic's about Mikey (the youngest Battling Eevee Brother) travelling through Kanto. I already have some things I'm going to do but to make it more original, I plan on changing the gyms around a bit.

Here's what I'm thinking of doing (contains spoilers for my fic, obviously):


Jiroo – Pewter Gym – Boulder Badge - (I think) he takes over the gym in one of the hosos/chronicles so it's canon.

AJ – Nowhere Gym – Earth Badge - I made his gym official and it's called the Nowhere gym since it was in the middle of nowhere (unless the location did have a name in which I'll change it if someone tells me). I'm giving him the Earth Badge cause of Sandshrew.

Daisy, Violet, Lily, Misty - Cerulean Gym - Cascade Badge - The Cerulean Gym will still be there but Misty and her sisters will be away from it at the time so Mikey won't battle there.

Lt. Surge – Vermilion Gym – Thunder Badge - Canon.

Sabrina – Saffron Gym – Marsh Badge - Canon.

Ephram – Celadon Gym – Rainbow Badge - After having won the grass Pokemon tournament held at whereever he's from (did his town/city have a name?) many times, Erika hands the gym over to him since she'll be focusing more on her perfume shop. (He won that one time in the anime so I'll just have him win a few more times in the fic.)

Janine – Fuchsia Gym – Soul Badge - Canon (from the game). Aya might be there as well.

? – Dark Gym – ? Badge - The Yas and Kas gym are combined and now official. Still need a name for the badge though. Also, I think I'll have this as a double battle. And if the leaders of the gyms don't have official names I'm just going to say that Yas and Kas are their names and they named their old gyms after themselves (seems possible *shrugs*).

Blaine (or maybe someone else) – Cinnabar Gym – Volcano Badge - Canon. However I'm still deciding if I want to move the gym or not since the volcano erupted. I may just move it to the Seafoam Islands like in G/S/C or I may have it just be rebuilt. I was also thinking of having a new Gym Leader and saying Blaine retired but I'm not sure who I'd put in his place. Maybe Egan (I think that's his name, the fire Pokemon trainer from Some Like It Hot!) or Macey (the fire Pokemon trainer who had a crush on Ash in the Johto league competition).

Since the Earth Badge moved gyms I'm thinking of making the Viridian Gym become just a place for trainers to train before travelling to the Indigo Plateau. So it'll be like that building in G/S/C.


So what do you think? Good, bad, cool, stupid? Any suggestions or corrections? Any feedback would be appreciated.

I can't see Blaine retiring without training a replacement for years. You know how he is. I'd be up for Mikey encountering him in the midst of training someone, though.

Also, Brock didn't leave Forest in charge.

I like the idea of AJ's and the Dark City gyms being official. As for the badge, how about Fog Badge? It could be a black oval stone with grayish flecks.

Morty has the Fog Badge. I think we'd have issues. What about the Tumbleweed Badge? (Dark City has tumbleweeds.)

That's right: I forgot about Morty. Or what about the Ghost Badge (which I don't think is taken), since both were basically ghost towns?

It was a ghost town? I thought that the residents were too afraid to go out into the streets because of the ongoing feud between the gym's, as for a gym badge, how about the Nemesis Badge?

That is what I meant; very little pedestrian or auto traffic in either place gave the appearance of them being ghost towns. Although your suggestion of a Nemesis Badge would work as well. Or how about Duel Badge, since the rival owners were constantly arguing?

I guess that's true. And nice idea on the middle of training thing. Seems like something interesting to add.

Forest - Jiroo? Lame name, glad I kept it as Jiroo. Anyways, yeah, I wasn't sure if he did or not hence why I had the I think in paranthesis. And he could have just taken it over later so I don't think it's too big of a deal.

For the Dark Gym badge names, those are interesting but don't seem to fit. At the end of the episode, didn't they plan to cooperate?

The did agree to work together. How about the Dual Badge, it was a nice ring to it.
