Ok so as many of you know, the swine flu has a new name now ( The H1N1 Virus ). Apparently, doctors have created a series of four needle shots *shudders* to help supress the virus. Unfortunatley, there's a catch to all of this: It isn't offical but it's ready to th public.

So the question is this, will you take the four shots knowing that it isn't official and not even tested yet?

Personally, I'd rather take the shots BEFORE the government gets their hands in it than afterwards. But I wouldn't take the vaccine anyways. I doubt that I really need it, Swine Flu hadn't turned into anything yet. And I know many people who have gotten these vaccines and gotten very sick, sometimes sicker than the people who have gotten the disease. No thanks.

I'm not in the threatened group for H1N1, nor have I ever got the flu shot, so probably not. Its not something that I'm actually concerned about to tell you the truth (I believe I've only caught the flu 2-3 times my whole life). I've always been more into holistic medicine and natural preventive care anyways.

To be honest, I'm more concerned about mutations in the virus rather than catching the current one.

Why bother? Its not a big deal or anything. Not like it'll become a terminal disease for an otherwise healthy person >.>

I'm not worried about the Swine Flu, the only sickness I get is the common cold.

I'm not worried either, I've gotten the flu and it was nothing. It's just people are overreacting and they say that schools are planning on making it a requirement to have these shots when it's not even a threat.

I'd rather get a chicken pox vaccination since I'm 18 and haven't gotten it yet, and it would be quite inconvenient for me to get it over the next 4-5 years (which incidentally would be when I'd need another shot).

The H1N1's just as deadly as other flus and I've never had shots for them. Infact, I think I got the flu the only time I got the shot.

I've never gotten the flu, or a flu shot, so I'm not really that scared, plus, it's just the flu, it might be dangerous to people with other illnesses, but people are making to big of a deal about it, it's just the flu.

I must say, it's also quite funny that Egypt didn't get any cases until after it killed all it's pigs.

Personally, I believe that people are overreacting. If only 0.45% of the world's population has contracted Swine Influenza, what are the chances of us all meeting some sort of inevitable doom?

I don't believe we'll need any shots. It's completely unnecessary.

I'd get it if there were some sort of sponsored program giving it to me for free.

I'm cheap and cynical and I don't mind needles at all.

(Btw, H1N1 isn't a "new" name for the virus; that's the official designation - much like how no one refers to water as Dihydrogen Monoxide.)

I got the Swine Flu shot in 1976 & survived with no ill effects, so I guess I'll get these four shots too!!

If I felt the swine flu was a threat to me, sure, I'd get the shots.

I wouldn't have a problem with it were it necessary, but I've barely heard anything about swine flu in relation to Canberra in about two months, so I don't see the need.

I've already had swine flu and was decidedly underwhelmed by the experience. I mean, how is having to spend a few days in bed enough of a threat to humankind enough to call this a pandemic?

I don't think I would get the shot. I've heard many times that it's not even that bad.

If more people start dying around here, then yeah, I suppose I'll take them. Even though I can't stand syringes.

If it's not been tested yet, no. I just don't want to face possible complications if there is something wrong with the shots. It might be deadly, who knows. By the way, I don't think anyone can get the shots before they've been tested. But after it's been tested and proved effective, I will take the shots, of course. I don't care about needles.

You might think it's harmless, but where I live, in Belgium, the virus killed one person (I know many more have died in the States and Mexico), a woman of about 30 years old. She didn't have health problems, but she died because her immune system was too strong, so she overreacted to the virus and contracted a double viral lung infection and died. So it's not as harmless as you'd think. I'm concerned.
