Hack like Shinygold

You know how that Zell guy made Pokemon Shinygold by hacking Pokemon FireRed? Well, I want to make something like that too, so I want to make a Gen 4 version of Pokemon Emerald by hacking pokemon platinum. It's just a idea but does anyone care to help me? I really have no idea how to do this.

Why do you want to embark on a project like that without knowing what you're doing?

I wouldn't recommended attempting such a huge modification of game code without any experience programming. If you don't know how to write code, then you shouldn't start with something extreme like this.

Umm.... I'm sure you need a Program that allows you to edit/make a opening movie for pokemon games
