Haha, just caught my first shiny.

Will it always have this initial rush and loss of what to do really? Well maybe the the inability to comprehend what to do afterward will eventually die down but that was amazing.

Oh geez, I'm so jealous. I've never caught a shiny. =[ Had to get my Steelix, Golem and Donphan from trades.
But congratulations on your shiny! I really want to catch one sometime.

What was it? My first was a Kricketune ]:

Mine was worse. Mine was a Bidoof that I couldn't catch because of Cheryl's Chansey. D: And that is still the only Shiny I've ever seen.
So don't feel unlucky. *pats*

It was a pinsir. The stats weren't so bad either so the luck was pretty good. I guess there was a benefit to not having the swarm I wanted today. haha.

Pinsir. Cool. My first was a Sableye. And let me tell you, the feeling was intense. It was like watching Iron Man in 3D with surround sound and playing the song (yes, that one) in the background.

As far as I can tell, the feeling never dies. It's a natural, "OH! COOL!" feeling.

Me too! I caught her in Diamond (as a Golbat) while I was training in Victory Road. That's right, no chaining, just pure luck. I mainly use her to fly me everywhere, but she's like my baby.

My first shiny (in the 4th gen) was a Scyther. Lucky because I was already planning on, and in the middle of, training one in the first place. Even luckier because it's ability was Technician-way better than swarm.

Only downside-I had to make Leafeon my "temporary" pokemon and eventually got boxed for the 6th member of my party. At least the awesome lime-green Scizor *almost* more than made up for it.

I remember catching my first shiny way bak in Crystal. I was trekking through Ruins of The Alph to fill up my Unowndex when I came across a Shiny Unown V. There wasn't alot of difference between a normal unown and a shiny unown then, so it went like this:

BLING shiny sparkle
ME: OMFG MUST CATCH

I did catch it. And my fabulously original seven year old self called it Rare x3
I do be loving my blue unown.

Catching a shiny pokemon always has that rush. Knowing you have something special. And its that little bit of smugness in everyone that thinks "Some people have never even SEEN a shiny and I have one! >=3!"
After all these years, seeing Rare in my Crystal still brings a smile to my face.
