In general, drawing chibis just isn't my thing - mine have always looked sort of forced, in my opinion. So why the balls am I drawing chibis, you may ask?
Well, I figured cutesy chibi drawings might help attract the people passing by to my music table. See, I'm in charge of a playlist of songs to be used as background music for the local library's miniature anime convention. I figured I'd make a little mini-magazine with information on the groups in the playlist, so those who are interested can learn a bit about some Japanese artists/groups. The chibis would catch their eye.
But in addition to that, drawing people who are only two heads tall has turned out to be surprisingly fun. :O
Three Japanese rockers that I jokingly referred to as Angry, Happy, and Sleepy while drawing them.
I've already noticed a bit of improvement from the first to the last chibi in that picture. I'm currently in the process of coloring and adding extra details to these three (coat, guitar strings, that sort of stuff) in Paint Shop Pro. I hope they turn out well.
Enjoy.
