Well, it's the same thing like the "hardest Gym Leader region"... except now we're talking the hardest ELITE FOUR amongst the different regions! (non-inclusive of the Champion)

Why this is interesting: the Elite Four is the ultimate challenge, all 4 of the region's top trainers, to be challenged in a row! Any one loss resets it and sends you right back to the start.

This makes team composition, skill in battling, and ITEMS super important! More so than Gym Leaders, which is a one-off battle that you might coast or do easy depending on which type you're up against.

But in terms of cumulative difficulty? Which region's Elite Four would you say gave you the hardest time?

NOTE: This poll DOESN'T include the Champion battle. We're talking PURE ELITE FOUR only!

________________________________________________________________

For Elite Four, the toughest has to be Gen III.

Don't overlook Phoebe and Glacia just because they have two of the same Pokemon in their teams: Banette, Dusclops, Sealeo and Glalie. Just when you thought you were done with Shadow Ball and Hail, here comes another one to take their place!

I would have to say Hoenn.
The elite four don't really shift in difficulty for me but Drake was a bit harder than all the others for me.

Ranking them from hardest to easiest. I haven't played XY yet.

1. Sinnoh (Pt)
The Sinnoh E4 in Platinum gets my vote as the most difficult. The level jump was mainly what made it hard, but Aaron was no pushover with his Vespiquen. Never did I underestimate Bug-types ever again
Also, Flint's upgraded team in Pt certainly did a lot of damage.

2. Hoenn E4 (Emerald)
One word: PHOEBE. Her Dusclops were way too much of a hassle. Also, Drake and his Salamance ;_;

3. Unova E4. (Both BW and B2W2)
Except for Shauntal, the rest were easy

4. Kanto E4 (FRLG)
Lance was difficult, but that's it.

5. Johto E4 (GSC/HGSS)
My level 70-ish Typhlosion solo'd through them like it was the easiest thing to do on earth

BUGS ARE AWESOME!!!

Never underestimate Bugs.

I <3 Aaron.

I'd have to say that Hoenn's is pretty hard. Everyone but Glacia are really tough

Sinnoh was the most difficult for me. Each Elite 4 member had at least one Pokemon that gave me trouble except for one. Drapion, Bronzong, Drifblim/Infernape. All of the other regions I pretty much breezed through the E4 without much difficulty.

I'd have to say Hoenn, especially Emerald E4. Phoebe and Drake weren't too difficult, but they were definitely annoying.

Sidney was okay for me. I think the rule of thumb is: more variety does you in.

His Grass pokes were handled by fire, his Sharpedo handled by my Manectric, Absol and Mightyena handled by Hariyama.

But comes to Phoebe and Glacia - fire gets doused, electric gets earthquaked, and Hariyama can't touch the Ghosts.

Hoenn, Wallace was pretty tought that time in which I didn't understand the game mechanics

Sinnoh for me. I hate Lucian's Bronzong. I usually don't find the Elite Four itself too difficult; it's the Champion that always gets me.

Sinnoh was the hardest for me, but I think that's mostly because Platinum was my first game and I didn't really know what I was doing. I was really underleveled, and I was still using Kadabra and Porygon because I didn't know how to evolve them.

Bertha especially gave me a lot of trouble because none of my Pokemon resisted ground, and two of my strongest Pokemon (Infernape and Luxray) were weak to it. Now that I think about it, she might be the only elite 4 member I've ever lost to.

Aaron's Vespiquen was annoying too because it kept healing itself.

Hoenn would probably be my choice, although Sinnoh and Kanto from my fire Red would be following close behind.

Hard to choose between Sinnoh and Hoenn. Though, to be honest, I did have a bit of trouble with Johto's in HGSS, but that was because my team was not good at all (it was much easier in Gold and Crystal).

In thinking about it, it was probably Sinnoh. It was my first Pokemon game and I really wasn't the very best like no one ever was then. I had so much trouble I had to use my sister's Palkia and my Mesprit. And still kept losing. T^T

I have to agree with the majority on Hoenn. A lot of the Pokemon were dual-typed, which made sweeping much more difficult than some other (*cough* Malva *cough*) Elite four members that relied on solely monotypes or dual-types with the same weaknesses. Plus, in retrospect, the lack of the physical/special split made everything harder.

For me the Hardest is Kalos but that's just because Pokémon Y is the first time I have played a Pokémon Since Gold

Hoenn, simply because of Glacia's Walrein and Drake's Salamence.

Considering this doesn't include the champion, I'd actually say that the Hoenn Elite Four wasn't that hard, for the most part. From the last time I battled them, Sidney was quite easy to beat with Mawille Baton Passing +6 defense from Iron Defense to Hariyama, having Hariyama use Belly Dance, healing, and causing destruction. For Pheobe, I think I Baton Passed the +6 defense to Sableye, had Sableye use Calm Mind six times, and destroyed her team with a bit of healing. As for Glacia, I think I used the Hariyama strategy, since Hariyama had Thick Fat, meaning that it took less damage from the STAB Ice type moves of her Pokemon. Drake was the only one I really had trouble with.

As for the hardest Elite Four, I'd have to say Sinnoh's Elite Four was the most difficult, since I recall losing to them several times, though the last time I battled the Sinnoh Elite Four was quite a long time ago, so I probably wouldn't find them to be so hard if I were to battle them today. But I guess that applies to all Elite Fours: I used to find the Hoenn Elite Four to be quite difficult; but recently, I managed to defeat them with Pokemon that were around Level 47, with a bit of healing. So, while I don't find any of the Elite Four from any region to be very difficult, if I were to base my vote on the most difficult when I first battled them, I'd say Sinnoh was the most difficult.

Sinnoh easily. Each E4s ace Pokemon was hell on earth if you didn't have a proper way to counter each one. Especially on the Platinum rematch.

I think I'm gonna go with Hoenn. I found them very difficult and challenging when I was younger (and they still can be if you're not overleveled). The Champion Steven is actually easier than this E4. Since GenIII I've always found the E4 pretty easy, especially in GenVI, but that's probably just because you get better with the years. So I'd say Hoenn because I was old enough to be good at battling and still found them difficult, unlike Kanto and Johto where I was just young and not as good at battling.
