So it's a month or so before it comes out, but I'm pumped as I'm sure many other fans are!

I just recently got into the Harry Potter books and I love the movies, but I'm not exactly up on all the current news and tidbits like I am with Pokemon.

So yea, discuss the movie here!!!

What are you most excited for?
What do you hope for in terms of the movie?
Will it be true to the book?

Also, be warned that spoilers may be contained in this thread because the book is obviously already out and the plot is out there.

This is the sixth one right? Can never remember the order they go in.

Anyway I think that the movie will not give Horcruxes (yeah I know, I can't spell it) the attention they deserve as they aren't the most interesting thing for kids and they involve references to the previous books that weren't included in the previous films.

I don't see how they can get around that the Horcruxes are the key to taking out Voldy. They have to make them important, or the seventh movie wouldn't make much sense.

I'm not looking forward to anything except for seeing the movie. That way, I'm not going to be too disappointed! It worked for the last movie, I really enjoyed that one. Though I suppose Evanna and Matthew's portrayals of Luna and Neville helped.

Yes same here. I'm pumped for the Harry/Ginny dynamic. From the previews it looks like romance is a pretty big part of the movie, so I'm excited about that.

And yea, the Horcruxes is essential to killing Voldy in the next movie so they will somehow have to be addressed.

Harry Ginny thats a real key point in the movie.
Otherwise the total and utter destruction of London the world and Hogwarts that will happen in the movie. Isn't movie 7 going to be like part 1 and then movie 8 part 2 of book 7? Cause I read that somewhere. But hell I want book 7 to be in one piece cause I would love a Zelda style harry potter trotting the world for horcruxes.

Yup I heard Book 7 was going to be split in two for the movies.

Dammut that means 2 games. They seriously need to make a collectors edition with all 8 games.

That would be badass. I'm sure they are just splitting the movies into two for more money ya know?

I wonder what they will use as a climax for part 1 tho since the real climax (harry vs. voltamort) obviously is at the end of the book thus will be shown in part 2 of the movie.

Obviously being caught caught by the death eaters and then the second movie would be the rest.

that's a good point, probably true.

yea I was thinking that as well. That will be epic on the big screen, so scary!! I can't wait...but let's get back to discussion about HBP.

I'm excited to see it, and see what Prof. Slughorn or whatever looks and acts like.

Never said that the Horcruxes wouldn't be addressed, I just think that they won't get the amount of attention that they got in the book.

I've never been a huge fan of the Harry Potter series, book or film. I do, however, respect how the series matures as it progresses.

That is why Half-Blood Prince's PG rating scares me. The last Harry Potter film to have a PG rating was Prisoner of Azkaban, and Half-Blood Prince is a much darker installment that handles much more mature themes. It makes me wonder what they cut to get this PG rating, and that has me expecting the worst.

PG? P-EFFIN-G?Oh dear god. How can a movie with london being destroyed by a bunch of hooded men that follow the "dark lord" as well as kissing moments heavy romantic themes and dumbledore being killed after falling off a tower of a nearly destroyed tower be accepted as PG? If all that gets cut out I swear that will be fucked up. Just saw the official site for the trailers. There is some chosen one humor in there. And the theme is way to dark for a PG rating. I mean it. Its all gray and gloomy with maybe one or two shots in color.
And wow scary images mild language and violence. Mild violence? They go up against a horde of undeads coming out of the water and all that I mentioned above. This. will. blow. Hopefully I am wrong. Also what the heay I didn't know dumbledore is gay...

Keep in mind. The Star Wars films were all PG, and there were plenty of deaths and on-screen gruesomeness (at least in the originals).

You don't need an R rating to kill someone, even on-screen. R's usually reserved for particularly gruesome, violent deaths or lots o' nudity.

That was a time where Transformers was badass and thrillers where PG. Now everything is kiddie safe when they show sexuality on television and through music and educational books at school. At least here. So yeah I dunno the PG thing is a bit extreme.
