I didn't see another thread about this, but, when i was dressing up my Charizard at the place in Goldenrod, it uses the Platinum sprite, instead of its Heartgold sprite, kind of strange.

Actually it's the DP sprite (though in Charizard's case it's also its Pt sprite too). And that's for compatibility reasons, should you chose to share your dress up pic in the GTS with someone playing DPPt. It's the same in Platinum. It uses the DP sprite too.

What is interesting though is that the Pokewalker also uses the DP sprite for the Pokewalker, even though it's only compatible with HGSS. I can understand the reasoning for the dress up thing, but I haven't a clue why the Pokewalker would do that.

The dressup in Pt and HGSS and contests in Pt use the DP sprite because the game saves the location of the various accessories as an X and a Y point. Game Freak didn't exactly want to have to reprogram Pt's contests, so there you go, and the dressup is for when you communicate with another Gen IV game so you don't end up with a bow on your Charizard's nose when you put it on its head.
