Has Pokémon or Pocket Monsters for the matter, become too big?

Like in Japan, it's "everywhere", food, trains, airplanes, T.V.(of course). Is it actually starting to become part of Japanese culture?

As long as it's still popular, it's good for me. OTL I want more Pokemons to catch...

I want it to get bigger! I want to teach my children and such how to play it!

It's starting to look like the Japanese "Peanuts". It's gigantic, but it's not all we ever think about. (I'm assuming.)

I'm fairly certain that the Doomsday prophecy involves something along the lines of Pokemon getting a real life action show.

But at its current state, I don't consider it to be bigger than any other infamous show or game. Another generation with 100 more pokeblokes could change that, however.

no, it will never be unless they try to genetically make pokemon then that would be a wee bit to big

There are many other franchises that are as big, or even bigger, in Japan. Some have already been around a lot longer than Pokemon has. Here in America, I believe the fandom has reached the self destruct point. It hasn't been big since the second gen, and I feel it never will be again, but it has still left an indelible mark on our culture.

What's wrong with it being big? Is there a limit to how big something can get?

It isn't too big. But anyway, you act like it being too big is a bad thing.

The more people who like Pokemon the better, in my opinion anyways.

Nah, I actually feel like it's gotten smaller (though, those profit mongers at nintendo might say so otherwise)

It definitely left a cultural impact. Many people know who "pikachu" is, or even pokemon in general, even of they never watched a show or played the games. Maybe it's going to be one of those franchises that is remembered 50 years later as one of the "classics"

Ahaha, I can only dream.

I haven't got a problem with it getting bigger and longer.

Provided they have a damn good explanation for why Arceus will be in the middle of the National Dex.

They never explained why the supposed most powerful Pokemon in the world (Mewtwo) is still number 150.

Yes it's gotten too big.
But that doesn't have to be a bad thing, since it means I can laugh at all the weird stuff based on it:3 (like cars and air planes. AIR PLANES!)

Pokémon is Nintendo's second most successful franchise (the Mario games are the first, obviously, and they've been around since 1985), and Nintendo is probably the most popular and well-known video game company in the world (the word "Nintendo" is practically synonymous with "video game console" in most people's minds). So yeah, that equals a pretty high rate of exposure in popular culture, especially in its country of origin.

Too big? I don't think so. That'd seem to suggest that it didn't deserve the level of exposure that it gets. It's a great series of games that anyone can enjoy. Nothing wrong with that!
