Has Team Rocket ever succeeded in getting what they wanted during that episode? Have they ever successfully stolen a Pokemon, or anything else, for that matter? (For instance, have they ever stolen Pikachu in one episode, and Ash got him back in the next one, or something like that?)

They usually succeed when they're trying to do good deeds instead of being evil. For example, in "Wobbu-Palooza!" they successfully fought off a group of thugs attacking a town.

Following up on what Florizare said, in Ignorance is Blissey, they successfully got all the food from the Pokecenter (Because Blissy, who was friends with Jessie, flat out gave the food to them.) They then felt bad for the Blissy when it got in trouble so they proceeded to pretend that the duped the Blissy into giving it the food and that the Blissy was, in fact, innocent, and they succeeded in convincing Nurse Joy that the Blissy was innocent.

There's another episode where they deliberatley set themselves up to lose to help out a pokemon, but they pretended like they were serious and they of course lost, but they intended to lose so they succeeded. I forget which episode that was though.

they stole a yanma from a kid and gave it to the boss.

but he gave it back to them. i think this one counts

In the viridian gym battle episode, they stole togepi, and giavonni rejected it, as it was too weak.

They stole that Yanma. It has made a good addition to their team, especially for Jessie's contests. Plus it was one of their first truly awesome pokemon. (the first was Wobbufett of course)

How about when don't they ever succeed? It seems lately everything is going there way. Musashi made Top 4 at the Grand Festival, they're currently proving themselves to their boss selling things at the league... I kinda miss the days when they failed all the time.

It is funnier when they constantly fail, but it's nice for a postive change. Hopefully they will go back to their old blundering selves next season, but an occasional win would be most appreciated for me at least.

James won that one contest where he and one of his Pokemon (Mime Jr.) had to stamp their map 5 times in 5 different areas and then get back to the Pokemon Center. But he ended up giving the food he won to Ash and company because they helped save it from Jesse and Meowth (who attempted to steal it without James's help).

That was "The Problem With Paras," when TR helped Cassandra's Paras evolve into Parasect. However, J&J failed to make any money off it, and Meowth failed to win Cassandra's heart, so I guess it pretty much evens things out.

Their victories include:

-Actually getting away with stealing togepi and yanma and sending them to Giovanni (the fact that he rejected them is beside the point)

-Jessie's DP contest arc

-Defeating Butch and Cassidy in tht Lugia special in Johto

I thought it was refering to when they helped Charizard regain it's confidence in the one where Ash gave him away for training.

James beat Dawn in a Contest.

Jessie beat Dawn when she used Aipom in that exhibition Contest.

James beat May in Pokeringer, although lost to Ash later.

James won the Orienteering competition in BF.

They successfully stole Togepi and Yanma.

Jessie made it to the Grand Festival. Heck, didn't she get fourth? Or possibly even third; I'm not sure of the official ranking.

Also let me digress for a moment. Giovanni turning down Togepi was one of the DUMBEST things he's ever done. Sure it's borderline worthless in a fight, but he could have sold it for a bundle.

Yeah, that's bugged me for years. One of the rarest things on the planet, but it can't fight so forget that? I suppose Giovanni wouldn't much care about stumbling upon a diamond mine, either.

As others have mentioned, TR have been somewhat more successful lately, and do much better when they're being good or atleast fair.

The Togepi line isn't rare. We've seen too many of them in DP to suggest that.

When that episode happened it was. Also, the ending of the Muscle Island episode in the Advance Battle series could be considered a victory.

They saved all wild ekanses and koffings from pokemon poacher. But they lost their Arbok and Weezing while doing it. It was very sad moment. :-/
