When you type certain words it automatically turns them into links. There should be a way to disable this feature. Sometimes it's nice, but other times it's just annoying. For example, this post:

Everyone knows what a Slowpoke / Slowbro / etc. is. There is no need for there to be links there. It just makes the post harder to read.

Now,now just because you know who those are, it doesn't mean everybody does
People can get forgetful (they're 649 after all) and there are people that are more used to names in other languages than the ones in English
While I agree that there should be a switch, for people that don't want to see the links, I'm just saying that the reasoning you gave isn't right imo

just use the tags.

... how does it make the post harder to read? o_O It added a link. It didn't change the font size to 20, the color to bright red, and made it flash on and off.

The tags might work... never thought of that.

By harder to read, I mean just that. It added an unnecessary link. That changes the colour (not to bright red, but it still stands out as being a different colour). In a group of text any word that is different stands out and looks like it's being emphasized. Which wasn't my intent.

They're only turned on in Pokemon forums. (Or were, anyway.) But there's no option for individuals to turn them off.

We've had to turn off the addon as part of diagnosing the current issues with the mentions system. I'm afraid however that there's no way to turn them off that I'm aware of, but we'll look into it. They are added to posts dynamically instead of at the time of posting, so it may be possible.
