I know we've been through this before, but it still eats at me. It just feels like every time i hear Iris and Trip badmouth Ash, it seems uncalled for and quickly growing tedious.

Iris claims to want to be a Dragon Master, but has she ever defeated a pokemon of the same caliber as Dragonite, let alone one belonging to a champion like Drake.

Trip calls Ash a "Boonie" but what would he say if he knew that this "Boonie" went head to head with Pokemon as powerful as Mewtwo or the Unown, worked side by side with Pokemon as legendary as Lugia, Suicune, Latias and Lucario, or even had a special connection to Pokemon as mysterious as Ho-oh and Azelf?

What do you think?

I have no issue with Iris - there's enough moments showing the irony of her comments that makes them fine - like last dub episode with eating the spicy food and calling Ash a kid while barely being able to hold it in; if there's enough variation and moments like that, then it is fine.

As for Trip - I'm still hoping he will get explained a bit deeper at some point to give him some back story. The Adeku episode is the start of that - and is slowly starting to develop him out, even if we don't yet know why he's anti-Kanto (just like I have no idea what 'Boonie' is supposed to mean, I suppose I have to add that to the long list of obscure slang, most of which used to come from Meowth). Of course there's no redeeming factors yet, which makes it very annoying to watch. I'm fine with his character being like he is, just as long as there's a good reason why tucked away for a later episode.

To be honest, Shootie appears way too irregularly to annoy me with his "catchphrase", and Iris doesn't annoy me at all.

The constant nagging on some characters on the other hand...well.

When making a thread in The Pokémon League, please wait until we have made our decision to approve it or not instead of making the same thread in the main section. The Anime staff all try to reach a general consensus about approving threads or not as quickly as possible despite our timezone differences, and it wastes our time and previous discussion if users just don't decide to wait.

On that note, we feel that this dicussion can belong in Trip's and Iris' threads in The Pokémon League respectively (comparisons in these threads is okay as long as they're relevant, which this would be).

The constant nagging on some characters on the other hand...well.

If you don't like to read certain discussion by members, I would suggest putting them on your ignore list.
