Have You Ever Lost Interest in Pokemon?

Personally, I'm starting to lose interest. It's just that, everything I do has to be perfect. Like Team Building for example. It has to be,
3 Pokemon with 2 Evolutions with one type
3 Pokemon with 1 Evolutuon with two types
Or the other way around with the types.
(Example: Reuniclus, Eelektross, Haxorus, Galvantula, Jellicent, and Braviary)
(Example 2: Hydreigion, Leavanny, Chandelure, Mienshao, Cincinno, and Simipour)
I just don't know why I do this. It gets me angry sometimes because I spend so much time team building, and then I don't use it. Like right now, I'm trying to build a Pokemon White team, but just can't make one because of my team building rules. How can I break this habit, and have you ever lost interest? Explain what it was and how you solved it.

Well...maybe you should just break the rules and try raising whatever you like. Aren't there pokemon you really want to capture and raise?

Yes, I've lost interest in Pokemon. Many times. Many, MANY times.

Yet somehow, here I am.

I've ever only ever actually completely lost interest once, and it was sometime after I lost my original Red version as kid. Years later down the road, they came out with FireRed, and it sparked my interest all over again. Anymore I will occasionally put the games down for awhile to do other things, but I always eventually come back to them.

It comes and it goes for me. The only real time I've lost interest was when Advanced Generation airing. It wasn't really that I lost interest but because I didn't have a tv to watch it and then I just fell out of interest.. Usually though I go through times where my DS sits on the table gathering dust for a while until I get the urge to pick it back up and play.. Right now I've been playing since before Christmas and I haven't had that moment yet.. It usually exchanges with Harry Potter.. When I'm not playing Pokemon I'm reading Harry Potter or watching the movies alot. Now I haven't really had anything to do with Harry Potter for a little while.

The franchise has been going on for 15 years now, its natural to lose interest in and then come back to it later on.

I think its obvious everyone lost interest at some point or another. The difference is can you get excited/interested in it again and come back to it.

Around the time of Generation III, I lost interest in the franchise as a whole, getting back into it during Generation IV.

I also recently lost interest in the games as I had more pressing matters and didn't finish HeartGold or White, but recently I've gotten into playing them again, finished HeartGold, and will finish White.

Lsot interst for a bit during the start of Gen IV but one day I decided to get a DS and Diamond and I've been hooked again ever since... trying to EV trainn now which sucks but oh well..

This is the same case for me. I didn't bother getting the games or watching the show anymore. When 2007 rolled around, I got a DS Lite for Christmas so I thought I would get a copy of Diamond (which got me back into it).

I don't watch the show anymore but I'm still interested in the games.

Oh definitely. The anime was the first to go, Johto series curse and all that. I lost interest in the games shortly after Fire Red and Leaf Green were released, and never actually owned a GBA.
I find it hard to believe I've only been back into franchise since HGSS was released, probably seemed like longer due to all the catching up on the older DS games and anime sagas I did.

I never lose interest because the games aren't good, I'll just stop playing sometimes when I just don't feel like it or if school's being a pain.

Also, Victory? I don't think you should obsess THAT much. My current Pokémon White team consists of an Emboar, a Musharna, a Zebstrika, a Galvantula (SHOCKINGLY, haha, I have two electric types, that usually bothers me), a Swana and an Amoonguss. I usually obsess as well, but everything works out. Even though my team has type repeats, I have only blacked out twice (Ghestis and some random time when I didn't save and my team was all really weak and some punk beat me) and I usually defeat gym leaders in the first battle. It doesn't matter all that much, but you should plan at least SOME of it.

Multiple times, but never completely or for too long. Every time is because I felt that I'd exhausted the fun out of whatever game I was playing, or I had other, bigger things to do.
But then the next game gets released and I come back in.

I have this thing where all my Pokemon have to match in color...

The Lopunny is kinda out there as far as matching but I want a shiny sooooo bad!!

Anyways, lose interest? Yea maybe for a few months within the 4 years or more I've been in to it. That's just because I had no one to play with and I beat all the games. After BW I've been insane about it... I think I need mental help.

Actually, I did have a period when I lost interest. It was around 2004, which is the Generation 3 time. It's actually not that the series is bad or anything. It's actually that I was occupied with other things that cause me to lose interest. Back in 2008 was when I regained interest, thanks to playing a couple of Pokemon games, and because I learnt that Pokemon has a rich competitive history (initially I didn't think this sort of thing exists).

Thanks for reading.

I did for awile in 2005, then started OBSESSING over Sonic games. It passed though and Pokémon stayed with me in the end while Sonic didn't much, but sometimes Sonic games are still fun...I guess i'm just more of a Pokémon fan?

Yeah, a few times, but it's inevitable that interest in any game will wane after playing for long periods of time. I tend to go through phases where I'll obsess over one video game series for a while, and once I get bored of it, I move onto something else. Pokemon is the series I return to most frequently, though. What usually reignites my urge to play the games again is playing other RPGs and feel frustration with their inferior battle systems.

I work in cycles. About a month or two of obsession, then I seem to lose interest for about another month or two. Repeat.

I've only just come off a period of no interest. But, a few days ago, I was feeling bored, picked up my Soul Silver and started playing, and my interest was resparked. It also somehow got a few of my friends to pick up the games again.

While I only dropped the games late November-ish, I stopped following Best Wishes a while before that, so I really need to go back and catch up with those episodes. (I've missed like twenty or so.)

Frequently (including right now), usually not because of the franchise itself, but because my interest in other activities has heightened. I think I will never lose my personal affection for Pokémon, even if I stop with the games and anime forever.

I was first interested in Pokemon as a kid during Gen III mostly because of the anime. Then i got FireRed and Emerald from my friend. When I got a DS Lite, I also got Diamond for my birthday. I lost my GBA and broke that DS Lite and lost interest because I couldn't play any of the games. A few years passed and I got a DSi. I decided to get Platinum and i've been interested since then. I usually put the game down for a while because or other interests or if school is being a pain, but I don't completely lose interest.
