Have you ever spent a long time looking for one Pokemon?

Have you scavenged through the tall grass searching for that one Pokemon with a 1% chance of coming out?
Spent countless hours chaining and failing to find that shiny?
Hatched 1000's of eggs to get a shiny?
Got stuck in a cave while trying to find where a legendary Pokemon is?
Do tell!
I remember spending 3 hours searching for a stupid Relicanth in Emerald. It was a nightmare...
And it took me over a year of unsuccessful attempts to chain to finally get a shiny.
What about you?

I spent more than an hour looking for Eevee in Castelia, I found the right place with grass in the sewers. All I found was a Whimsicott. You know what's annoying? I already had a Cottonee and Whimsicott's encounter rate is the same as Eevee's, 5%. I hate this.

I just spent over 30 minutes looking for a stupid Duxtox on route 229, which has a 5% encounter rate. While searching, I encountered 4 Pidgeys and 2 Beautiflys, all of which have the same 5% encounter rate.wtf.
I never found a Duxtox, I just gave up and went to route 205 to get a Cascoon and evolve it :p

It took me quite a while to find Chimecho on Mt. Pyre in Ruby. Incidentally, I found Feebas in about 5 minutes.

I would also spend ages walking around in Viridian Forest looking for the level 9 Pidgeotto in Yellow.

Chimecho in Saphire. Then I finally found one and accidentally killed it. Than I spent another hour until I found next one.

Lots of stuff in Hoenn. Grimer, Ralts, Chimecho, and oh yeah, FEEBAS. Emerald was a tough thing to catch 'em all on.

I spent over a year off and on resetting for a shiny Mesprit to complete my Sinnoh shiny lake trio.
I spent a lot of time on Emerald trying to find Feebas tiles and I eventually did, but it's tiresome to go from tile to tile fishing for Feebas. I think it took a couple hours.

Oh yeah. In fact, still at it.

Trying to find a Grimer in Fiery Path in Emeral to finish off the Pokedex. 2% chance to find it and Been at it for Weeks now.

Funny thing is, I found one once Long ago back when I first got Emerald but didn't think much of it. Then I traded it off to my Diamond (which I didn't need to do) without evolving it so now I'm stuck with no Muk!

EDIT: Up Date. Finally Found one! Last Pokemon that doesn't require a Trade or Cheat to get.

When trying to register every PKMN in Black, I needed a Jellicent. I had two choices; level it up or catch one. Being the idiot I am, I said that catching it wuold be faster so I fly off to Driftveil to catch one. There's a 5% encounter rate in the rippling water. And the first one I accidentily KO'd it (damn ghost types, can't False Swipe 'em). All in all, I spent a couple perfectly good hours catching a Jellicent. :/

But even worse than that was the Feebas in Diamond/Pearl... 4 freaking spots. -.-

Chansey in Gold to trade for an Aerodactyl. It took me allmost night and by morning I was one cranky little kid.

Feebas. That took forever. But now I have Milotic in Ruby, so I guess it was worth it... :)

Chansey. Dear Primus, Chansey. Low encounter rate in the Safari Zone in FR/LG and every single time I found one it. Would. FLEE. I hate that pink freak with the burning intensity of a hundred million mid-summer desert suns.

It was eight months of work to finally hatch a shiny Roselia on Emerald. My shiny Golett hunt was half that--a bit over four months--but it felt like it was an eternity. But the payoff was worth it. (Well, for the Golett, at least....)

I once tried to search for a Chimecho in my Sapphire until the game froze, and I decided to call it quits.

I also once searched for Feebas in Platinum for a while before finding one. I later tried again in Diamond, and then I gave up on that, and another time, I did the same on a Sapphire, before giving up.

It usually takes a long time to get a Pokemon with a certain nature, but I was surprised to find a Riolu as my first encounter in Floccesy Ranch.

Actually, I have been looking for a Pokémon for so long, that I have met a Shiny of another species long before the Pokémon I was searching on first place.

And that has happened me thrice.

Chimecho, Feebas and Ralts in Emerald (boy did this guy like pulling my strings), Cryogonal in White. Ironically enough, I got Cryogonal on my first step in its Twist Mountain area in Black 2.
