Have you watched a Pokemon series as it was releasing in real time?

Were you able to watch a Pokemon anime series (e.g. BW, XY, Sun and Moon, Journeys, etc.) from start to finish (or maybe at least most of them) as it was releasing in real time? What was it and how did it feel like?
 
I followed some DP spoilers and even watched the League when it premiered, but my first one was BW. I watched every episode in Japanese except for a few from Decolore Islands and kept reading and following every piece of news. It was fun, everyone was hopeful at the beginning with people paying attention to DP-like developments and strategies, though the public opinion changed little by little until everyone hated the League, but I still enjoy it and I see it as an underrated series, also one I won't forget because of that change of how I approached the anime.
 
I used to do just that with Horizons when it came out years ago; I was interested in it since it was completely separate from Ash's journey. So I went from the 4th episode (for some odd reason) up to the 58th one, and then I lost interest. As much as I wanna get fully caught up, I was getting disillusioned with the method I used to access the series, and I was about to move on to other aspects of the Pokémon franchise anyway. Also, I spoiled myself (whoops) and while I never got to the timeskip, I heard it wasn't that good anyway. ^^;
 
Since I was more into other anime during my childhood I've been on and off with watching Pokemon. As far as watching it when the episodes were being aired in real time I'd say during the BW era and that's mostly because I wanted to see what was going to happen to Ash after seeing what he did at the Sinnoh League and for a possible Paul return.
 
i have watched the anime when it was on Cartoon Network and Boomerang during the Late 2000s and Early 2010s (i have watched OS-DP on Boomerang when i had Fios in 2014-2015 and i watched the first 49 episodes of XY on CN (Clemont's Got a Secret is my favorite episode of XY btw) when they had rights around that time)
 
I used to watch the original series until the end of Orange Islands when they were releasing in the real time. But then I disconnected until the end of DP. With the soft reboot that BW was, I thought it was about time I'd start again and have been following it weekly since then, has been over 15 years now which is one of the rare things that remained the same in my life throughout the years. I was only a high school student back when BW started. Even my English was extremely broken and I'd understand half of the subtitles back then. I watched all the previous series over the course of years of course, in fact some of them more than once.
 
pokemon horizons was my first time doing so! i've told this story a million times but i checked out the japanese premiere on a whim because i was interested in the female protagonist and expected to lose interest and drop it but then it became a constant part of my life the past three years instead. i intend to continue watching until horizons comes to a full close, and hopefully whatever comes out next also strikes my interest too. it's been a pretty interesting experience for me because i'm not one to keep up with anime or tv shows as they air in general, i'm much more of someone who tends to watch things in retrospect after all the hype has passed and the full package is there to watch, so this has definitely been new for me. i've found that it really changes how you engage with the show, especially one that runs this long and has so many episodes...

i never actively kept up with the anime before this unless you count me catching episodes occasionally on TV when i was in elementary school in the 2000s. i've seen a little bit of DP as it was new but that's about it.
 
Yup. I was an avid watcher of the dub releasing in real time up until Pokemon moved to Netflix when I kind of fell off and haven't caught up since. I might be behind on Horizons a bit now. The DP-Sun Moon period so we're clear. Of which, Pokemon moved to Netflix when Journeys dropped.
 
got on board and followed with the story of HZ when it debuted on the BBC iPlayer and Nine (the network with 9go! threw the towel after 75's dubbed debut

on the plus, the ABC in aussie got to continue the story
