Sluggish operation, screeches and "EEENNNGGGGGHHH" during video play, and now I can't even use Skype, because of "Disk I/O" error.

This now happens not only after I leave it on during work, but just a few hours after turning it on. I don't know what to do. ;- ;

Have you tried running your anti-virus and anti-malware programs? That's always a start...
