Helloooooo everyone!!!!! Long time no thread here, haha!
Recently I've been... well, into a lot of stuff. Mostly rhythm games-related. I haven't worked on my Viceverse fic in a while, but I'm probably not gonna continue it because I've been investing myself in rhythm game song gijinkas LOLLLLL - I've been working on them since 2024 after I got hooked into Taiko no Tatsujin's 2000 series of songs!
But even after I've worked on quite a lot of song gijinka stuff (see here), it made me wonder... "Hey, what if I made Pokémon gijinkas too?"
Technically this idea came to me shortly after I watched the recent February Pokémon Presents, but now that I am getting around to working on it, why don't I introduce one of them into the Bulbaforums? I mean, it wouldn't be an art thread without actual art here, haha!!
And now, without further ado, let me introduce you to the first(?) of these Pokéjinkas on this here thread...
I haven't written much about the project itself yet but in summary, the setting would take place many, MANY years in the future of the mainline games, where humanity would go on to become extinct, however...
With Terapagos' remaining powers to sustain what's left in the world, it encased EVERY single Pokémon in existence (save for the Legendaries/some Mythicals), turning them into clusters of elemental crystals, which eventually shattered on its own to become "shards", as Terapagos' body became a huge landmass that would form into the supercontinent of Terastrand, the real setting for this project.
Shortly after Terapagos' great sacrifice, the Legendary Pokémon took the shards and used them as tools for terraforming; some are used for creating flora, oceans and weather, while others chose to recreate the human race by inserting the shards into plants, mounds of clay and more (anything related to the respective shard's pokémon type, basically) - giving birth to "incarnations" of the Pokémon from the past (a.k.a the Pokéjinkas themselves!).
Valerie, as shown above, is a newly-appointed member of the Mythos Shardkeepers; people born with rare shards containing the raw essence of Mythical Pokémon, entrusted with powers ALMOST comparable to a Legendary (who're also humanoid in this btw), and the oath to defend the land against whoever dares to disrupt its ecosystem... or overthrow the Legendaries themselves. Can the newfound powers of these powerful Shardkeepers be a blessing... or a burden?
Well, that's probably what I have for this setting at the moment, but I promise there'd be more to it! I'll show more art of these poké-humans and lore around them eventually, so stay tuned!!
