WOO HOO.

Im glad to say I was one of the millions that helped these sales. To the naysayers in Game informer and ign that think Pokemon is a fad of the past. Suck on that chumps.

Lets celebrate the victory Pokemon...YAY.

Sorry. But seriously, this is pretty cool for a series that many bash as being simplistic and childish.Not one but TWO spots on the list. Heres the full top ten list from Yahoo.com

It was said that if you counted both versions sales, it would have EASILY been number 1. CONGRATS POKEMON And Thanks to US, its STILL relevant.

(Ps I guess Lugia IS better than Ho Oh :))
 
I thought heartgold would of had more buyers with better exclusives. But with GTS it doesn't really matter. Glad that soul silver won since I have that version. :D

Probably everyone thought that, so they got Soul Silver :p I got both :drool:

But did both games combined sell more than New super mario bros (Wii)? Because I really don't consider them two different games, well just barely.
 
Eh, I'd argue that SS had better exclusives, but that's beside the point. Pokemon > CoD. Gotta love that.
 
Well, Silver was a tad more popular than Gold, so I guess that makes sense.

(Haha, how is Just Dance even on there?)
 
:O I just read that story on Yahoo about an hour ago. I started laughing at my brother cause he thought Heartgold would be higher than Soulsilver. HE WAS WRONG! >:D
 
I honestly don't get why people are surprised about this. Pokemon is, in no way, a dying franchise. I saw the list myself & it was put that had the two games been combined they would've secured the #1 spot easily. Not enough people are giving the games credit & now they have no choice but to recognize! :lol:

I read that too. I bow to the 493 creatures (soon to be more :)). However, I must ask, why separate them? Aren't they basically the same game?

Basically, yes. But, with a few Pokemon accessibility differences & a different name it counts as a different game.
 
Whats the difference betwen Heartgold and Soulsilver anyways? Hey Mario and Yoshi are up top they must've been the best sellers at game stores
 
Bah, NSMBWii being at top spot still is a bit of a downer, but I guess it was to be expected. Hopefully the inevitable sequel will be less of a 'slow boat to the end of world 6-6' and more of a 'world 8 rollercoaster ride'.

Nice to see that Galaxy 2 is doing well, however. Now there's some platforming I can really jump on! Brilliant design work and tons of fun!

...oh, right, right, Pokemon, yeah. Well done for the remakes and all that jazz.

I'm glad I bought Soul Silver then. This just shows that there are many die hard pokemon fans who are going to get their new games even if they have to chew off their limbs.
 
Thing I love about SMG2 is that Yoshi's in it...plus nostalgia from other Mario games

HG/SS brought back nostalgia with the return of G/S music heck I dont think most kids these days ever heard of Gold and Silver
 
I thought HG would surpass SS in terms of popularity (I heard from my classmate that more people would get HG more than SS).
 
It's official.
Pokemon > Call of Duty.
Also, I wonder why SS beat HG, as usually it's the opposite with paired versions.
